Ed Thompson of Scout.com gives a short list of notes on the off-season. Seems to have a lot of love for Davone Bess...


"While many teams undoubtedly focused on the former Hawaii receiver's mediocre 40 times at the NFL Scouting Combine that ranged from 4.64 to 4.79 seconds, they apparently were chatting or snoozing while he was actually displaying his skills as a receiver."

we need all the receiver help we can get. i hope he pans out, but i'm not getting my hopes up just yet. i still think we should have drafted a WR earlier!!!
 
i think he could end up being a solid #3 or even #2 by the end of the season
 
Combine numbers are meaningless. There are workout warriors at the combine who never amount to anything, then there are guys like Emmitt smith, who have a very mediocre combine speed but have the field speeds and running abilities of a hall of fame player.
 
Nice to see this year's David Sutton getting press. Yeah, EVERYONE but the Dolphins' snoozed on him. He has no flaws, he should've been in the first round. :rolleyes:
 
In the 06 draft, Marcus Colston was the 4th to the last player selected, and how did he work out? If you think about it, he's only 5 picks ahead of Bess so it's not that farfetched for him to succeed.
