Fox Sports rips Fins Fans

Will "Miami" fans still support this team if they become the "Los Angeles" Dolphins?

This question has been posed before and many have said Hell No.

Would be interesting to see what would happen if a Cleveland situation happened for the Dolphins.
I wouldn't be shocked if it happened, just would be interesting to see how the Miami legends (Shula, Marino, JT, etc.) would handle the move.

Dear fox sports,
If you pick up the tab for me to fly across country, and pay for my ticket, meals, and cab, etc.... I will be at every home game cheering my balls off! Hell send me every away game too!

Kind regards and F-U

I agree with all of this. But they're just reasons that Miami fans are fairweather fans.

Welcome to real life. Ideally, every team would have nothing but super-hardcore fans and enough of them to fill a stadium, but in the real world, a team that is a perrenial loser will have trouble selling tickets and it will take more than a feel good 3-0 start to fill those seats on a regular basis.

This is a business, first and foremost. In most cases, outside of ****ty towns like Dallas, you are going to have a tough time selling a **** product. There are a multitude of reasons that have been covered ad nauseam on here (though constantly disregarded by the "blame the fans crowd"), but if it makes you feel better to whine about the fans, by all means. It won't change the FACT that only wins will bring people to the stadium. Call it fairweather if you want, but if I'm the average Joe Schmo fan living in Miami (which is what actually fills the stadium), I'd need a little more convincing to lay down hard earned cash to watch this team, especially if I had paid money to see them lay that turd against a godawful jills team. You call it "fairweather," I call it fiscal responsibility. Don't pay for something that isn't worth the price.

 I always the love the nonsensical "Move to LA" argument. Man, if you think Miami fans are bad, wait til you get a load of LA! Not to mention the teams that are FAR more likely to relocate, such as SD and Oakland (again).

Yeah, let's listen to the media and posters, from other city's. They know best. LOL

Any one know about the South Fla economy over the last 5 years? Guess not. The construction industry has been brought to it's knees, restaurants, and hotels are trying to survive, and the taxi cab drivers are in the same boat.

This is a large true fan base, and they just do not have the disposable income, too busy trying to make mortgage payments, paying bills, and feeding families.

By the standards of some, including this forum, they are not fans. Maybe they should be taking money to feed their kids or make a mortgage payment to go to a Dolphins game.

Those in the media, and this forum have no idea of what has happened here over the last 5 years. There are still many with money, who will go to games IF being there is an event.

Others are waiting to afford to go. True Story.

Umm this has happened all across America. Not just south Florida. There are plenty of sold out stadiums across the country

The team winning changes the savings and spending of some.

Joking but, he likely does not know that, until now. :) South Beach does not start until midnight but, Halloween is different. It started at 8 AM. I had to go to MB City Hall Building Dept at 8, and it was a trip. All the gals were in costume, with a screeching howl when you walked in.

God, I love this place.

I couldn't disagree more. One of the excuses for a lack of fans is the economy in FL might be the worst in the country. But if the Dolphins win 10 games a year that issue with having just enough money to eat and clothe ones family disappears?

Winning consistently is key. But it is a valid point that other NFL teams who don't win consistently still fill their stadiums, at least most of it. That's when we get into the whole "There's tons of things to do in Miami" argument that's gotten stale at this point.

I'd like to Miami win consistently to see what the crowds are like.

If this team ever moved, I would hate them more than I do the Jets and root against them every game they played.

Maybe people have just lost a lot of interest over the last decade of losing? You can call it whatever you want. It isn't like we've won a Superbowl either in any kind of relevant decade. Don't forget the people living in Miami, about 70%+ probably aren't even from this country and could care less. The other 30% probably either can't afford it or the fact TV is fine, cheaper, and not as much of a hassle and annoyance after you lose. A lot of people who also grow up in Florida end up leaving (I recently left, good luck finding an "native"), and I used to have season tickets for a while and go all the time. I gave that up about 6 years ago, just wasn't worth it anymore, and I can hardly bother to watch most of the games anymore (a lot of that has to do with just the way the NFL is headed).

This is a franchise that might benefit from moving elsewhere. There is a bunch of Dolphin fans, they just don't live in Florida for the most part ;/. It's not just Miami though, you're going to see a lot of stadiums I think being built smaller outside of maybe a handful with super loyal fans.
