short blurb but couldnt agree more..

"BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR MOVE: Miami getting a head start on the free-agent signing period. "

Being able to sign all of our top tier free agents and for #'s that didnt break us was awesome.

Do hate to see them list new england and jets as the biggest winners. How do the jets really become the biggest winner by cutting their best reciever, trading a way a boat load of picks for a rookie QB with limited experience and hiring ryan to coach who is a bafoon.

best move???

I'd say killing blind DolFans ambitions on John Beck acutally being able to produce even a percentage of production in the slightest way of "good"......

by releasing him.....:hclap:

I have to disagree with you... Coles was no longer a #1 receiver and is 1 concussion away from working at McDonalds... Dirty Sanchez will be worth the draft picks traded away... and I wish Rex would keep his mouth shut !!!

Lol, marshawn is suspended 3 games instead of 4... which we play buffalo week 4, rofl.

You only gave up one draft pick. A 2nd rounder. The Jets moved up 12 spots. Swapped with the Browns in the first.

Three players were moved in the deal.
DE Kenyon Coleman, QB Brett Ratliff and S Abram Elam.

In all fairness the Jets didn't give up much.

I havn't watched enough of Coles in the last year to know if he has begun to fade in age or not, but I do know I would have liked to have him as a vet. WR to mentor our younger wideouts (though he's in Cincy now, so moot point)...

I think its still way too early to declare Sanchez worthy of the picks/players given up for him. My reasoning being is Sanchez, given his limited body of work and including that he was surrounded with a talented group at USC, is MORE LIKELY to fall flat on his face than he his to succeed. I'm not saying that he will definitely fail, but the odds are less likely he will not succeed as opposed to having success. At this point, he has much to prove. I think he'll handle the pressure of the being a key cog in a NY sports team, but I'm not sold on his overall body of work (due to its sparse amount)....

Thank you for finally saying what more Jets fans should be saying about Ryan. The guy was a great D coordinator in Baltimore, but he has a LOT to prove as a HC and he needs to let his team/coaching do the talking for him. A Head Coach is supposed to be a living representative of a franchise, and I think Ryan's brash approach and ****iness definitely makes the Jets look bad. As a Dolphan, I hate the Jets with a passion, but I could at least respect their franchise if they were coached with a little more class. IMO Herm Edwards, while a bit unorthodox at times, was a real class act and I miss the rivalry of his firey passion on the sidelines. He was a coach I gave more respect to. Mangina and Ryan? Well, I wasn't a fan of Mangini, but Ryan is really shooting off at the mouth about way too much (and I'm not even talking about the whole Crowder-Ryan verbal barbs).

It's foolish to say Sanchez will be worth the draft pick he hasn't even been to TC yet. Might want to take a wait and see approach on that.

Should be said for all the hype surrounding Pat White.

let me just take this opportunity to speak for most people here or everywhere on PW and say nobody is expecting PW to be a franchise QB. He is nothing but a backup who plays the WC. Thats it.

If we do not resign Penny, I am fully expecting us to draft another top notch QB in next years draft or get one in FA.

With Coles gone though, who is Sanchez going to throw to? Besides Jerricho Cotchery, the Jets have no receivers.

Ha what is this Jet Fan doing here go to ur wack ganggreen .com .... I like the Kid Dirty Sanchez he looks like a solid guy but yea paid way to much, oh and Coles was not a #1 reciever but was the Jets #1 ... Rex = retard

If Pat is a bust at Qb then he can still be a great WR,or RB what the heck maybe a CB lol jk.... but he has versatility and we seen him play a little longer than 1 year...

Absolutely, no doubt. The difference is our season will not be negatively affected if White is a bust. Sanchez lays an egg however and the jets are looking at 5-11 or 7-9 at best.

But I do agree, a lot is being talked about in reguards to White. I really think the wildcat will be helped a lot more by a healthy Donald Thomas and Grove replacing Samson and a healthy Ronnie more than what White brings to the table.

One thing that has bothered me for awhile now is people writing how certain teams stopped the wildcat or over time found out what it took to stop the wildcat. This simply isn't true, I am doing a play by play wildcat break down vs the ravens that shows what I am talking about. I should have it up in a day or so. The wildcat was stopped by lack of execution not schme. The ravens were able to use physical force with one on one plays to get such extreme penetration (NT beating our center, and DE beating our RG) that they were able to blow the play up before it got started. If we had had our starting players in there or even average players that could have held their blocks we would have easily moved the ball vs the ravens out of the wildcat. It wasn't blitzes that caused the problems, the wildcat is setup to take care of that (even welcoming it) it was having players unable to even get a hat on a hat to slow down the DL.

What is gonna suck is if we see handle the ravens next year with the same plays but with better blockers, ol Mr Ryan is gonna take credit for it and say the reason the ravens couldn't stop it was because he wasn't there. But don't worry he will be there to get two shots at stopping it when we play the jets. If we can keep a healthy D. Thomas and Grove on the field all I can say is GOOD LUCK WITH THAT mr Ryan, good luck.

I wish I could believe that comment. But after getting called a 'hater' a million times on these very boards for my comments on the guy. I call bs. Alot of people here on these boards have PW as the next coming of god himself. I on the other hand think he was a reach and don't put much faith in a 195lb qb/rb to be a every down player, for a team that wishes to be a physical team.
I hope he does well when he is utilized, but I still think Ronnie taking the snaps give MIA the best chance to win while using the 'wildcat', not the 'wildpat'....

As for the other poster on the Balt game. I agree that in both games, Balt just plain out whooped the o lines arse. Throw in the lack of a deep ball to keep Reed and Leonhard out of the box and MIA was done. I just hope this year we have a power running game, with a nice dose of fly's outs and fades.

Hey, I liked what we did, but I think that link overstates it. We resigned Carey to a huge contract ... we didn't really save anything there. Our OL is one of the highest paid in the NFL, and we haven't reached the production that salary merits yet. Crowder was re-signed, but lets face it, he's mediocre at best and would have easily been a journeyman had we not resigned him. Bell, yeah, good move, Will Allen is quality too (is he resigned yet?), but they're at the end of their career and made it clear they wanted to stay at Miami, so it wasn't the hardest negotiations we've ever had. Frankly, I'm looking for more signings like Smiley--young veteran with leadership and solid production for a modest salary.

I think not resigning our other 2 DB's was probably our best move, as IMHO they don't merit the salary they commanded, they aren't building blocks for the future, and we were able to replace them with 2 very talented young players through the draft while still having veterans like Will Allen and our safeties to teach them.
