Foxsports rankings - we dropped 3 spots!

Somehow, some way the Dolphins are 8-5 and tied for first here in December. While the sky is falling in New York with the Jets' fade under Brett Favre, the man he replaced, Chad Pennington, is playing mistake-free football while also putting up excellent passing numbers. COOL STAT: Pennington ranks ahead of Favre in both QB rating and passing yards. THIS WEEK: vs. 49ers (5-8)

How is it that we go on the road, DOMINATE the game, move into a tie for first in the division....and STILL drop 3 spots?

I realize these are just opinions....but seriously...? This guy is a moron.

I could see us maybe dropping down ONE spot if we BARELY slipped by the Bills, since they're not very good. But dropping us 3 spots after we were in complete control of the game? Wow.

I also don't know how you rank a division leader as the 18th best team in the league. Interesting, this guy ranks ranks the teams in the tie at 12 (jets), 13 (pats), and 18 (fins).....

meanwhile.....the Bills got crushed and only dropped 1 spot, to 22.
 
who cares... 98% of these sports Journalists have no idea what they are writing about anyways.
 
I never take fox sports seriously. Most of their work tends to slant towards the NFC. Same way CBS seems to slant towards the AFC. I mean, it makes sense since they cover each division. Just hard to take either source seriously...

lol, I think 'under the radar' went out the window as soon as we became tied for first and analysts (Shefter, King, etc) started picking us to win the AFC East.

I think Fox Sports' radar might be the only one we are still under....
 
SirDrums should be putting out his power rankings thread soon. I'm curious to see how we are ranked in other places.

The Miami bias with the media is just incredible... I would love foxsports to explain how Miami beats Buffalo, Miami drops three spots, and Buffalo drops 1 spot... Its so laughable and pathetic...

Another example is my post from yesterday...
the great and heralded Terrell Davis, and the cry baby, whiny Jim Mora both rode the Ratriot badnwagan... rode it long and hard... while Sheftler chose Miami... Both TD and Mora's reasoning were the Ratriots easy schedule with game against Raiders, Buffalo, Arizona... The funny thing is, while the vaunted and great ANALysts TD and MoraN rode the "ratriot schedule is the reason they will win the division", neither one of them mentioned Miami's EASIER schedule against SF, KC, and Jets, which Scheffler called them on, as I would have done... TD's rebuttle, "so you are saying Miami will go to the superbowl"? Pretty weak arguement to Shefflers rebuttle considering this was only a division conversation... TD was reaching, and reaching far with that statement considering the word superbowl never even came into play...TD is definately a moron

Seriously makes me sick to my stomach, the money they pay some of these ex-stars, to become ANALysts, and bad ones at that, just because they played the game... Im willing to bet my house that all of us )well most of us) finfans know more about the Jets, Ratriots, Bills and Miami than ALL of these sole called ANALysts do!!!
 
Im sorry, but come on the skins, eagles, and bears, should in no way shape or form be ranked higher than the phins. I'll let the saints slide since they have been explosive at times. I do read alot of fox sports and it tends to be alot of bull, it seems that the hired all the hasbeens that couldnt cut it at espn. Even the vikings are questionable, and of course im gonna favor the phins, but the redskins eagles and bears should not be ahead. The only reasoning to see why he ranked them so low, is only because the phins started 2 and 4, vs these other teams starting slighty better and coughing it up in the end, plus the dumb**** doing the rankings is a patriots fan.

couldn't have said it better myself.
 
I dont usually get too wrapped up in the power rankings because they are really only meant for things like fan banter...but I will admit this is perplexing to me.

If you're making an honest and fair power ranking, I dont see how the Dolphins could drop 3 spots following an easy win over Buffalo. The Jets/Pats sit 12 and 13 while even the Redskins, Saints and Bears are ahead of us. And the 6-7 Texans only 2 spots behind? Again, I know these rankings mean nothing....but these don't make sense to me.
 
Tied yet trail the Jets and Patriots by 5 and 6 slots.

Power rankings always crack me up. Why would the Phins be under the Redskins when they've lost 4 of their last 5 games?

I usually post it on Thursdays about noon, that’s when they all have been updated.

I read the fox rankings this morning as well. I think after being 1-15 last year, these guys aught to be congratulating the fins on their turn around instead of demeaning them. Oh well.
