man i will tell you what this kid has all the skills to be a elite wr 6'4 good speed it seems he has it all together mentally. watch out he could be a big time part of our offence this year i have no doubt he can be atleast our #3 maybe #2..:dolphins:

And you're basing this on a decent pre-season game?

no it's cause this kid was a 3rd rd pick of the defending champs a couple of years ago cowher said he had all the talent in the world but could just not get his head in the game. cowher knows players and saban does also and he took a chance on him and i think he will make the roster for sure and he looked the best out of all the wr's against the jags he plays big in games....:dolphins:

Fred was a 4th rounder for Pittsburgh. Nonetheless, the guy does have a lot of physical skills but has had a hard time with commitment and dedication. Also, and this may be a symptom of a poor work ethic, he has had a difficult time learning the offense. If Saban can get him motivated he could indeed end up being a very good player for us.

Not gonna happen...

It will be a surprise if he makes the team. He's soft, not particualrly fast and with mediocre hands. I'm from Georgia and watched his percieved talent waste away over the years. At Georgia he would occasionally (about every 3-4 games) throw up a monster performance and then disappear the next week. He could make spectacular plays and then drop the easy one or run the wrong route. It's going to be Chambers, Book, Welker, Hagan and then probably Aromashadu and one other from a group that includes Gibson. I wish he would figure it out, but don't let one or two games get you too worked up.

Nice reply! The NFL is all about level and CONSISTENCY of performance. He had me going last game so I'll watch how he performs on an every down basis now.:dolphins:

I have watch many training camps practices the last two weeks and Gibson has really put it to another level. Today's morning practice he catch 3 of the 4 long passes and made every catch possible and was able to get open most of the time (While others struggle for separation). Harrington the last two weeks has looked alot better than Culpepper but I am sure Culpepper will pick it up.

i dunno about #3 or #2 but i do see him making it as maybe a #5...he is better then vick and all the other junk trying to make this team as a wr.

We've got three more preseason games. Three more preseason games like the first one and he makes this team. They'll find a way to make it happen. He has the experience, he was in this offense all year on the practice squad.

His height makes him tempting. We don't have another WR with that kind of height. You can use that kind of height situationally.

On the depth chart, he has been listed 3rd string behind only Chambers and Welker. That's HIGH...makes him no worse than #6 out of like, 12. So he's listed #6, and the #5 guy, Kelly Campbell, can't stay healthy. Hmmmm....

dolphins roster

I dont know about the rest of you guys and gals, but the cuts are coming soon. Damm I hate this cause I have a few players im rooting for that I know might not make the roster. I mostly always root for some reciever to come in unknown and the Dolphins to hit it big w/ the guy. Well this yr its Gibson, Murphy, Russell. With that group I could include our 2 wr draft picks and Vick plus Cambell. On defense it was Mitchell and Shabazz cause I thought they would be somthing special like a hidden jem. There also Teyo Johnson at Te, Kay-Jay Harris at Rb and Mike pearson on our O-line.

I say it'll be Chambers, Booker, Welker, Hagan, Aromashadu, Gibson. Campbell can't stay healthy, vick looks good but i think he needs more time as an wr before he can contribute, so he'll be on the p squad.

How come everybody is counting out Marty Booker?? Granted, Booker will only be as good as Pep, but that goes for the whole team. I really feel that Booker has potential to have a pro bowl year. That is, if there's enough balls for him and Chambers. I mean he was pretty damn good in Chicago.

I figure that with Chambers, Booker, Welker, and Hagan are all locks to make the roster, we will carry one or maybe two more recievers. That said, I also figure the main contenders for those spots are Cliff Russel, Kelly Campbell, Marcus Vick and Fred Gibson. Gibson did look good, but he is not going to be our 3rd reciever. Although Hagan didnt show it saturday night, he is having a great camp and should end up with that role.

On another note, I watched the entire game on saturday night, where was Aromashadu???
