I don't get it. What is the all this hype about gibson making the team over marcus vick. I haven't seen anythig from this guy.

Vick has had two catches for 12 yards, as well as a 5.8 yard return average (punt, I believe), where as Gibson has had I believe five catches for over 100 yards. Sure, he's had some concentration issues, the guy is a head case, but has far more potential AS A WIDEOUT than vick. I don't see us keeping one guy as nothing more than a gadget play guy, Randle El's role in Pitt has been overplayed a lot. I also feel that Vick should be moved back to QB, much like Saban suggested he is thinking of doing.

I'll tell nick :)

Gibson has also been on the practice squad for a year, learning the offense and practicing against NFL defensive backs. Vick has no receiver experience except for this training camp. Gibson is also bigger and faster. The 5th WR spot will come down to Russell, Gibson, or Campbell. Vick is ticketed for the practice squad.

Disagree...

Vick will make the team as an athelete.

id rather have vick make the team but gibson has made some plays but then again dropped some balls

Gibson drops balls. He is not reliable. He doesn't have the head or the heart for the game. Vick would be a better addition. There is a reason Gibson dropped 4 rounds in the draft and ended up being cut by the team that picked him.

He had problems with drops in the LAST preseason game. The first two, he had hands of glue, pretty much. Any receiver can have an off game. And as for heart for the game, he showed a lot of heart in the first three games. The man got tattooed and still managed to make the catch.

And since we're talking about drops, what about Hagan? How come barely anybody is calling him out?

Even if gibson is a better reciever, think of what vick brings to the table
He may not have experience but all the talent in the world, he is a natural athlete

Saban likes guys that can do many things. If Vick can prove he can play WR at the same level as Gibby, but also plays on punt coverage and return teams, the Nick will go with Vick.

We are lucky. Nick is making that call, not Wanny,or Spielman.

Nick will make the move that will be best for our team, and I am sure glad he knows what he is doing.

Vick has shown nothing. 2 catches for 12 yards. I have seen him run the wrong route on passing plays and put up sub-par numbers on returns. Gibson, Russel and Radar have made more plays than Vick.

Potential means nothing, performance means everything. Vick hasn't performed...it's that simple. The guy brings a myriad of personal issues and failings to the field. Potential or not, he just doesn't have what it takes. The NFL unemployment list is full of players with "unlimited potential", but it's the underrated workman like Zach that become difference makers.

Guys, he isn't Mike...get over it already. I say send him to Europe, the practice squad, or just cut him outright. I can't stand the hype anymore.

I can't say potential means nothing. There are players who are employeed in the NFL because of potential

Personally I'd like to see Gibson make the 53 man roster and Vick get placed on the PS, but as always I'll be glad Saban is the one making those decisions, not me.
