Fred gibson

Gibson's a helluva athlete. If he gets a shot, he'll impress. I saw him quite a bit at Georgia and he's every bit as good as Reggie Brown who got picked by the Eagles and is backing T.O.

The problem is not skills, but his head!

I'm not aware of any "head" problems. He stayed clean at UGA and was not afraid to play hurt. Please tell what you know.

I find the quotes and post it in a minute.

I definitely agree with that. He's got superb ball skills and athleticism. In fact when David Greene was throwing the ball deep, Gibson reminded me of Randy Moss the way he was coming down with the ball in traffic. Not saying he's the next Randy Moss or anything like that, but I can assure that he can be a valuable member of our team.

Heres one

1. Negatives: Has had a series of minor injuries that lead to questions about durability … His frame is built more like a sprinter's than a football player … Shows marginal academic intelligence and may struggle in a complicated system … His frame looks too lean to stand tall against press coverage at the next level … Needs to run crisper routes, as he does not always work back for the ball and will run his cuts on long patterns … Lacks courage and size to combat for the ball in traffic … Hears footsteps and will lose concentration, resulting in quite a few dropped passes … He is too conscious of the oncoming defender, and this affects his play when working in tight quarters … Has elusive running skills, but is not considered a speedy runner, as he gathers to accelerate after the catch … Will not get much yardage after securing the ball, unless he has a free lane in front of him … He is such a marginal blocker that he has been benched in the past due to this issue.

2. The Steeler site stated he just didn't get it. A friend of mine from Pitt said he thought he was gods gift and didn't work at it (reminds me of AJ), and pissed off the staff and players with his additude. I guess hence the Quote from the Steelers, he just didn't get it.

He sounds like he could be a head case. Lets see what he does on the practice squad. If he shows something, I'm sure he will be signed to the roster.

Just curious, what is the source for these representations? If true, he must have been around the world with Ricky between college and the draft. Doesn't sound like him.

And your friend knows this for a fact? Is your friend a Steeler's player, staff member or coach?
