Just wondering lads what you make of him? Has been alot of talk recently about him going to Celtic and several Premiership clubs. So how good is he and how good can he be?

Freddy is still young, but I think he can turn into a pretty good player. I watch a lot of soccer, but not so much MLS. A lot of people have already considered him a bust, but I have heard that the problem with him in the MLS is that he does not get to play as an attacking midfielder as he is doing in the Under 20 World Cup. Throughout the world cup he has been the United States' best player. It is hard to tell with him sometimes, because he definitely has tremendous talent as shown in the games against Poland and Brazil, but he can also disappear for most of a game as he did against Uruguay the other day. I don't think that Freddy is ready to contribute at a premiership team right now, but I think he needs a move to Europe so he can further develop his skills. I think a few years of seasoning in Europe will do good to, hopefully, get him ready for the 2010 world cup. I believe he will be a good player in a few years.

Haven't you been watching the U-20 WC? Freddy Adu is a half-failure in MLS, but he showed that he is easily one of the best players at the U-20 WC, and quite possibly the most creative.

I think those that have been saying the coaches in MLS were mostly the reason Adu hasn't shined might be right.

Celtic might be a good team for him... (I know I got him in Celtic in my football manager game... he has been great for me.)

Difficult call tbh. I have been following his career after he was first alerted as being a potential great player. He still has that potential but IMO he needs to move to a European club to advance his skills.

As for moving to Celtic , would be a massive coup for the club but the pressure he will be under will be huge. The vermin expect their team to win massively in every game and especially versus the other vermin (Rangers).

Living in Glasgow he will be made more than welcome to a city that lives and breathes football.

I think he would do wonders for the SPLs profile and it would be a great stepping stone to move to a huge European team like Man Utd or Milan.

He should go to a Dutch team IMO. They have good track records for developing players and seeing them off to big name clubs. The pressure won't be as great as in some other arenas too.

Isn't that particular rivalry one of the most heated in the world? I remember reading a bunch of things about the mutual hate that both have for each other.

Adu is better then what he has shown in the MLS. He has skills and he is demonstrating that he has the ability to shred defenders and create a dangerous attack. Hopefully he'll go to Europe very soon, hopefully to an English, Italian, or Spanish team.

18 I believe. He has skills. This first vid is the better one that shows off more of his skills...
