Free Agency could start at midnight

So is that it? No NFL for us this year? Or can something be done?

Something can still be done. There are a lot of different scenarios that will play out over the next days, weeks and months. One of the quickest scenario could take place on Monday. As soon as the owners locked the players out at midnight, the players filed an injunction to Judge Doty. If he rules in their favor, the lockout ends and the owners would be forced to put together some sort of rules for 2011. The owners and players would still fight over a new CBA, but the offseason and regular season would still happen, likely under the rules of 2010.

The common thought seems to be that the worst case scenario has no new agreement until August or September. At.most they would probably lose a few games, but likely not the whole season. Odds though favor a full season happening.

No matter what happens though, the draft will still take place in April. Let's hope the players get the ruling they expect on Monday, so nothing has to be lost.

It sucks but no point in talking about how much it may or may not suck.I guess most of you were not around back in 1987 the year the players strike, but life does go on.I think the more you talk about it , just the more upset you'll get.

If the owners don't blink before the season the players will cave right after the season starts when they start missing paychecks.

I say the fans should take it a step further. I say that the first game of the season (and maybe more) after the dust settles, we fans do not go to a single game. Those stadiums being empty would be a big message to both the owners and the players that we don't have to spend our money with you and that $9 billion dollar franchise is dependent on us as fans spending our money. I know this won't happen but if it ever did it would be a clear message to both sides

this actually sounds like it would just make the union lawyers more pissed off and really dig in for sure.

Even better ... We need to start a Fans Union ... then we band together & NAME OUR PRICE ... and STICK TO IT, like Unions. (since prices have gotten ridiculous in the last 20 years.)

Tickets: $20 - $50 for decent ave. seats
Jerseys: $50
Parking: $8

These are STILL High Prices & allow them to be RICH & us to be FAIR!!

We could name it: Fans Under Constant Krap Union

Nubs, I don't think it is fully up to Doty. I think the owners can issue an "impass", and dictate rules if they decide to not lock out. It's really confusing and not sure how it could all work.

Yeah ... and outside of that ... the NFL Owners Billionaire Boys Club is big into COLLUDING, hard to miss.

Don't see any owners lifting a finger to PAY/BUY a player, even if they could.
(That would screw the owners & help the players.)

Redskins owner Snyder is Mr. Free-Agent-Horny ... we'll watch him, as he'll probably be leader of the Free Agent Pack.

Owners like Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder are 75% of the root cause of this lockout. Greedy, money grubbing power hungry *******s.

The other 25% of the problem consists of players that aspire to be like the owner.

mcdonalds is hiring Vontae or u could serve your country doucebag

the guys who SERVE THIS COUNTRY are the ones who deserve these millions. as do the police and fire fighters. think they are not at more risk than a gangster stumbling around for a football?

all these guys calling into the sports radio shows saying, "you all dont understand, this is totally different, they can get hurt or there career can be over at any second!!"

true.

but, so can a navy seal, a recon marine, an army ranger, a paramedic on the road, a fire fighter, an iron worker working on 80 story buildings, the joe schmoe carpenter swinging a hammer all day long walking hi beams, the roofer hanging off a 10-12 while balancing his tools, etc......

it can be OVER at any second. big difference? most of these guys dont make gazillions. they get hurt'
they are at the mercey of the crooked HMO insurance! nfl players even if they had no nfl medical plan can still AFFORD THE FINEST MEDICAL CARE AVAILABLE!!! the guy who is just a sub contractor has no hmo and pays for his/her own medical care and if their career is over, they dont have millions to to keep there family afloat and injury cared for. its OVER!

and the big point in the "over at any second" arguement? the football player risks his career/health ONE DAY A WEEK, FOR 5 MONTHS, the military man, the firefighter, the guy swinging the hammer, the iron worker risks his life/health EVERYDAY, ALL YEAR LONG!!!

the owners have MADE THERE MONEY working there arses off, going to college and actually learning and building there wealth and providing a GAME for guys to be able to make millions off of. A GAME!!
and these idiots have the gaul to ask to see theIR books and demand 50% of THEIR profits?

can you imagine going into your bosses office and saying, you know, i am the one who runs the lathe down in the shop that makes the parts, i want to see your financial records for the last 10 years and then i want HALF of all of it!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

the players, led by greed and a criminal union, are sinking their ship. they are the LUCKIEST people on the planet to get millions to play a FRIGGIN' GAME, one they played for free from a little kid, through hi school and college with the SAME RISKS and they have the gaul to try and hold their employers FINANCIALLY HOSTAGE?

FIRE THEM ALL. cut these salaries down into the 6 figures and cap it. those that dont want to play, go form a leauge. the players that do come into play may not be as good as some of the ones who walk away, but then talent will still be equal and the games will be fun. college ball is fun and then games are GREAT and exciting, and 80% of college football players wont make the nfl.

the players shot themselves in the arse and walked away from a sweat heart deal friday and lost ALL credability in the process. if nfl football ceased today, the world wouldnt end. the world cant survive without servicemen and women, construction workers, medical and fire fighters, teachers, law officers.

these greedy, disalusioned players need to wake up before there golden goose dies!!

stick it to 'em owners. hold out till the very end!!!!!
