Free Agency Breaking News- NFL - Breaking News Thread 2025 Offseason

Any idea who this guy is? Is he the guy who will save this season?

He was a rapper with the 2 Live Crew in the late 80's. I had their As Nasty As They Wanna Be album when I was in high school. Some of their biggest hits were Me So Horny, S&M, One On One, and Banned In The USA.

The contracts for those late round picks are the problem in this scenario. Too disproportionate.

If the reports are true and Ewers turned down 8 million for 2026, that's about the dumbest financial decision I've ever seen. He would need to be a top 4 pick to make that annually and he had to know he wasnt going in the first round.

As a 7th round pick, if he washes out or ends up a 3rd string QB for his entire career, he will be lucky to make 8 million over his entire time in the NFL.

Crazy stupid

Not if you believe in yourself.

He could lose out on a prime earning year by staying in college another year.

This is what confident people do.

It’s not a negative characteristic IMO that failure doesn’t cross the kids mind.

Not intelligent ones
As people point out, it really depends on if you think you can prove it. I could stayed with a nice job and secure income, but I went with the risk of starting a company for barely enough money to eat, but I felt confident (and intelligent) enough to do it. Things worked out. Making the choice between a set amount of cash and a risk at more in the future is a daily challenge.

Even when I wondered if migrating up to pitching nickels during lunch break would be better than sticking with pennies. Does anyone remember doing such things?

Even if he’s only a backup, they still get paid big money. He’s one year closer to that.

I’d be more concerned about a guy who stayed in college to get paid because they lacked Quinn’s confidence.

Not even close to the same thing

They’ll be signing neither. Both are old and washed up. They haven’t signed a single stop gap player that wasn’t young and hungry, why would they change course now.

I like Jaylin Armour Davis from the ravens in a trade, not because he’s good but if I’m giving up a Jalen, I want one in return. I think it’s a more rare version of the name and we can easily replace the Ramsey version of Jalen so collecting this version is appealing
Got to stock up on the Jalens!

Yeah, not much at corner in free agency.
