One of the writers who covers the Dolphins for the Sun Sentinel, Harvey Fialkov, talks about free agency in this short interview. Some interesting notes in there. The link to the full article is here: http://www.thephinsider.com/2009/2/17/761115/a-phinsider-exclusive-talk

Excerpt:

Final question: if I asked you to look into your crystal ball, give me two names of free agents who you would predict the Dolphins will either go very hard after or will indeed sign once free agency begins. A: I just finished a story for the paper on this very subject. I'm feeling they'll go for the second-tier free agents such as Baltimore's Bart Scott, Dallas' Chris Canty or Pittsburgh's Bryant McFadden. They believe that their coaching staff can transform good players into quasi-Pro Bowl players. Does Davone Bess, Patrick Cobbs or Anthony Fasano ring a bell?

way to go out on a limb there Harvey, considering there are virtually no first tier guys left

Hmmm, if Miami thinks they can make pro bowlers out of Bess, Cobbs and Fasano they better get to work on fixing the Oline, cause if they don't the teams on this years schedule will have Pennington eating a lot of grass.

I thought Chris Canty was asking for big money????? I agree in the final analysis of FA, we're find complimentary players and maybe 1 big contract..

Harvey does say that he thinks the Dolphins, if there is one top guy they want, they'll be aggressive and try to sign him right after midnight as they did with Smiley last year.

that player will be asomugha if he hits open market best corner in the nfl what better way to spend ur money im buying

Interviewer: Devereaux, what do you think the Miami Dolphins will do in Free agency
Me: I heard rumors that there was a team in Florida that was considering signing enough players through free agency or trade so that they would be able to have a full roster after the draft and the start of that speculated team's mini camp.
