All CBA issues aside, what FAs would you guys like to see us take a look at?
Obviously guys like Brees, Bentley (who says he's not going to the Eagles), Hutchinson, and Woodson are the most attractive, but are they the most realistic?
If the cap situation gets cleared up, I think we can land 1, maybe two, "impact" FA's. Brees looks like the most likely, since he'd be almost garunteed a starting spot here. I also think we could get him cheap due to his injury.
Hutchinson doesn't look likely because of the transistion tag.
Bentley is a good possibility if we work him out early. We will not be the only team going after him mind you, but remember the last two years we've lost out on some FAs we were considered favorites for because we weren't their first visits (Woody,Tait,Kennedy).
Guys like Woodson and Law we can almost count out. Two of the best corners in the league when healthy (and both are Michigan alums:wink: ), but there's no way we can afford them. If we look at corners, guys like Plummer and Townsend look more likely.
A lot of people believe we'll make a play for Jullian Peterson. Well, IMO our main targets are Bentley and Brees but JP would be a big pick-up. The only problem with him is his agents (Poston Bros) want him to be the highest payed LB. If we go after a FA LB, look for it to be cheaper guys or Witherspoon.
I've also heard rumors that Josh McCown could be brought it even if we get Brees (Gus will more than likely get cut, Sage is a FA). Saban and Mueller apparantly like JMc's potential (which is there), and his cheap tag. So McCown could end up being our QB next year.
I've also heard rumors that Ryan Clark and Robert Royal of Washington both are interested in coming to Miami to play for their old college coach.
