I don't see us getting too many big names in FA. Maybe DB's but DL probably not do to the cost involved. BP isn't going to spend big on one or two players. Especially since we need so many wholes filled and one of the problems we had this past year is depth.

I can see Randell Gay and ken Hamlin. I see Faneca going to a team close to SB.

Your thoughts...

If we signed K.Hamlin (FS) I hope we could package J.Allen and others for pick(s) or proven talent in position of need for us.(Which is almost everywhere!)

I think Faneca will 99% land in AZ because of Russ Grimm and Ken Whisenhunt there. I would love Ken Hamlin to come here along with Bryant Johnson. I think they are realistic possibilities. Also, I hope that we could grab a starting NT if we go to the 3-4 or a DT if we are in 4-3. Does anyone know what DT/NT's are available as FA's? Another thing, why would we package JA? Couldnt he play along with Hamlin in the defensive backfield? I thought he was finally making some strides when he got to play this past year.

Hopefully we don't sign any big name free agents. This team is still years away from making a serious playoff run. We need to have a productive draft or two and build a solid foundation on young talent before looking to free agency to deliver the final pieces of the puzzle.

New England plays this game perfectly and I wish we would do the same. Until this year the core players on that team were either drafted by them or brought in as low profile free agents. When they realized they could be heavy Super Bowl favorites with a few key additions, they then brought in Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Thomas, etc...

Look at what Saban did when he first came here. He inherited a bad, old team and brought in a few talented, old players in free agency (Holiday, Traylor, K. Carter) to act as band-aids. Sure, it made us respectable fast, but when all the key players on your team are past their prime, you will never be anything more than respectable.

With that said, I would like to see us go after so lower profile free agents that could pay off. Hamin and Randall Gay would be decent options that probably wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Adding some high priced free agents to a bad team is just a recipe for disaster...just ask Saban, Mueller and Cameron.

honestly, i wouldnt trade a 7th rounder for jason allen if i was a gm for another team.

I thought he played pretty solid in the second half of the season, and was one of the few standouts in a decimated secondary.

Yea That! J Allen really showed up the second half of the season.
