Here is a list of Free Agent Centers that Miami could look at. Which ones do you guys like and why?

Matt Birk UFA 6-4 309 Vikings
Jason Brown UFA 6-3 320 Ravens
Eric Ghiaciuc UFA 6-4 303 Bengals
Jake Grove RFA 6-4 300 Raiders
Geoff Hangartner UFA 6-5 301 Panthers
Andy McCollum UFA 6-4 300 Lions
Will Montgomery UFA 6-3 310 Redskins
Jeremy Newberry UFA 6-5 315Chargers
Rudy Niswanger RFA 6-5 301 Chiefs
Cory Procter UFA 6-4 308 Cowboys
Brett Romberg UFA 6-2 298 Rams
Chris White UFA 6-2 292 Texans
Ben Wilkerson RFA 6-4 310 Falcons

The one name that pops out to me is Jeff Hangarter. He is young (26) and has the big body the Trifecta wants. Plus look how the Panthers ran the ball last year. Jake Grove would be another possibility but he isn't as young (29). Hangarter is scheduled to visit with the Bills today. To me Birk is too old (32) and J.Brown will command too much $$$ (7-8 mil per).

I am under the impression as of now that we will probably wait and address this position in the draft with the likes of Mack, Unger or Caldwell.

Or maybe, just maybe the whole center need was a smoke screen. Or maybe those who think they need a center take all the FA centers leaving us able to draft the one we really want.

I think the center position will be best filled through one of our two second round picks. For once, I feel like luck smiled on us in that two of our greatest needs, C and WR, are very deep in this year's draft.

Geofff Hangartner....6'5, 301. Daaaaang.

plus he was a part of the Panthers last year, so he must be good. ill take him, it will leave us with one less need this draft.

i wonder if the dolphins realize how many good names are out there. we saw in the last few games that we NEEDED OL help.

Smiley is good, but not healthy. Donald Thomas i said to be a pro bowler eventually, but got hurt. Will he get hurt again?

Satele made some good blocks, but also stunk too. MAYBE, thats because he had no support (LG, RG).

With names like Brown, Kemoeatu, Hangartner, Moore, Newberry...im wondering why we arent going for one? Maybe they think Smiley and Thomas will be 100% healthy afterall.

I still expect Jason Brown to be heavily targeted by the Trifecta before the weekend is over.

can i have those guy's age also. anyone know? i wouldnt mind an older stop gap guy adn draft a project later. or let SS play (if the FO feels he can) and get a 3rd or later prospect.

Not at the price he's asking for.

Maybe, maybe not. Just throwing this out there, but if we WERE to sign him we'd still have 14 to 15mil left in capspace after the increase in the salary cap this week. Even if we were to sign him at 5 to 6 mil a season, we'd still have about 9 to 10 mil left to work with for the draft.

is that true? i thought it would almost depleate us. i really dont want to draft a center, i want Brown. It opens our draft so much more. but Boddn/Mcfadden and Coles is a good concelation
