Here are some thoughts for Miami to fill several holes in free agency.

Joe Barksdale OT
A two for one. Barksdale could slide inside to guard and serve as a quality swing tackle for Miami. His best quality is as a run blocker. Bringing in Barksdale would mean Miami could look for depth at the position in the draft, rather than spending a high pick.

Steven Jackson RB
Jackson may not have a lot left in the tank, but on a short-term contract he could be a perfect fit. I see him as an ideal complement to Lamar Miller as a power, short-yardage back. Trent Richardson is available and may have a lot to prove, but he hasn't done anything in the NFL. Jackson has a lot of heart.

Randy Starks DT
Bringing back Starks on a short-term deal would help depth at DT opposite of Suh. If used correctly, Starks can still be effective.

Louis Delmas S
I'm not sure there are any upgrades available in free agency so why not bring Delmas back on the cheap?

I went looking for help at corner, but all the good ones signed quickly. I think if Miami did this or something like it, they would still need help at corner, wide receiver and middle linebacker heading into the draft. The team could look for a developmental safety in the middle rounds and depth at offensive line later as well.

I'll live with Brice McCain along with Grimes if our line is supposed to be so beast. Should be some hurried throws up for grabs. I'd focus more on guard and maybe a power back to eat some carries in short yardage situations especially, depending on who is available in those positions. I admit I'm not up on the league's guards but if Barksdale is good, fine, but we still need another guard. Plus, if an OT gets hurt and he swings outside, we still have to play our depth which is even more horrid. We need to find a couple of guards unless Billy Turner has taken some sort of a huge leap in 1 year.

Stick a fork in Jackson.

Barksdale has 1 game of experience at guard in his life... gonna be more expensive than Wiz anyway.

Starks I like, Delmas I like.

Patrick Robinson definitely works as a CB here.

Steven Jackson would be interesting. I always liked him. Probably still has a little left. Also for CB help I wonder what Dimitrius Patterson is doing? IIRC He walked away from the Jets. I think he had 3 INT's in the first 2 games he played with us before getting hurt.

I think Jackson is all carried out. Barksdale...meh. But both Starks and Delmas are free to come back for the right prices. I like them both and clearly they both fit.

CB Patrick Robinson
OT Ryan Harris
WR Denarius Moore

All super cheap depth signs and I think we're ready for the draft.

God no, Jackson was washed up when Atlanta signed him. I would take Moreno or just about anyone else besides him.

It looks like there is no interest here for Robinson from our FO. He is going to Pitt. on Monday.

I think this team will really be going with what it has this year... Maybe a vet and draft pick here and there, but I think the majority of the thinner positions are going to be training camp competitions with what we have. I wouldn't expect anything else spectacular to happen. I think we did the bulk of our moves already.

CB - Draft pick, Grimes, McCain, Taylor, Davis, Aikens, Seamster, Rose, Heath
FS - Draft pick, Michael Thomas, Don Jones
ILB - Draft pick, Misi, Sheppard, McCain, Knott
WR - Draft pick, Stills, Landry, Matthews, Hazel, McDonald, Preston, Vet
RG - Draft pick, Thomas, Asper, Vet
RB - Draft pick/Undrafted, Miller, Williams, Gillislee, Vet

Those will be the battles going on come training camp, imo.

I'm thinking we may be done with Robinson due to McCain basically.... but that just my thoughts... I wouldnt mind Robinson otherwise.

Delmas I love, and think is a must... 1-2 years cheap. yes the injuries, but we know how good he can be when on the field and with the team. good risk/reward!!! same with Moreno later on in FA.

i say no on the rest of the list though. still wish there was some noise at least for Wis... I guess he is visiting a couple more teams upcoming (if havent yet) but I didnt hear Miami in there. otherwise OG may just be in the draft.

CLAY!!!!

I hate Steven Jackson......the MF'er cost me a season in my fantasy league. Always hurt. I would just draft a RB maybe around Round 4, if we decide to go there.

The thing with Delmas is... You will lose him to injury. It isn't an if, it's a when. The guy is done, imo.

I'd rather us give Thomas, Jones or a high draft pick the reps in camp than a guy we know won't be starting for us in the season.

Jackson? wow he got paid to be as good as retired for the last 2 years

Oh I forgot we have RJ Stanford on the roster as well.
