Here are some thoughts for Miami to fill several holes in free agency.
Joe Barksdale OT
A two for one. Barksdale could slide inside to guard and serve as a quality swing tackle for Miami. His best quality is as a run blocker. Bringing in Barksdale would mean Miami could look for depth at the position in the draft, rather than spending a high pick.
Steven Jackson RB
Jackson may not have a lot left in the tank, but on a short-term contract he could be a perfect fit. I see him as an ideal complement to Lamar Miller as a power, short-yardage back. Trent Richardson is available and may have a lot to prove, but he hasn't done anything in the NFL. Jackson has a lot of heart.
Randy Starks DT
Bringing back Starks on a short-term deal would help depth at DT opposite of Suh. If used correctly, Starks can still be effective.
Louis Delmas S
I'm not sure there are any upgrades available in free agency so why not bring Delmas back on the cheap?
I went looking for help at corner, but all the good ones signed quickly. I think if Miami did this or something like it, they would still need help at corner, wide receiver and middle linebacker heading into the draft. The team could look for a developmental safety in the middle rounds and depth at offensive line later as well.
