I know and agree that Nate Clements is the best free agent available and he would be a shut down corner for us but he could come too high and we have too many needs to overpay for one player. PLus our corners have not played that bad this season at all. I have our 5 Main FRee Agent targets after we resign Vonnie Holliday, Keith Traylor, Wes Welker, Donnie Jones, and Yermiah Bell.

Target #1: Lance Briggs LB
- I know Adalius Thomas is having a monster season and he too will be available but the fact is that he is a little older than Briggs; however Briggs has the toughness and meaness to fit perfect in our scheme. Combining him with Zach and Crowder would give us the best linebacker core in the entire NFL. Briggs has already been rumored to be heading here after the season. Let's hope it happens.

Target #2: Eric Steinbach G
- I really like how Kendyl Jacox has played this year and I love the addition of Toniu Fonoti as guards opn this team. I think them having an open competition with JOe Toledo for starting right guard is what this team needs for next year; Steinbach could come in a lock up the left guard and be our best offensive linemen since Richmond Webb. He will improve our line greatly and should come at the same cost that Jeno James was costing us.

Target #3:MIke Gandy LT
Gandy is an underrated monster who could combine with Steinbach to give our offensive line instant credibility. Gandy could come around the same cost of LJ Shelton and anchor our line for many years. A line consiting of Gandy, Steinbach, Hadnot, Fonoti, and Carey would be very good and a great improvement from last year

Target #4:Daniel GRaham TE
JUstin Peele is a FRee Agent and Graham isan upgrade over him. Bringing in a talent like Graham could push McMichael to step up his game. It wouldn't hurt to have a legitimate #2 Tight End.

Target #5: Roman Oben T

Obenis good enought o start and is a tough veteran. He would be a very capable backup for Carey or Gandy shall either go down. He would also give this line a veteran leader with some attitude.

Crap! you just re-did our whole O-line through FA....although I'd like to see it happen, I doubt it will.

I agree with you on Briggs, he has to be our #1 priority.

we would be lucky to get one of them, we won't get all

and out of curiosity what happens to LJ? he is our RG for what 5 yeras?

Either he takes a big paycut and battles it out for a position or send him packing.

im sure there will bea huge cap hit. SHelton is playing great at RG. he wont move.

The Orginal poster said players would should target it, he did not say we would get all the players we should target and make offers to. If we just get Briggs and an one of OL listed I would be happy.

we need an o-line help and another rec. our 3rd rec sucked this year

  I THOUGHT WELKER IS PRETTY DAM GOOD

HAGAN SUCKS

Mike Gandy? Seriously?

Can't say I've really seen him play, but I was under the impression he was barely mediocre.

Not sure about Briggs, lot of people say he is over rated, and I definitely don't think he'll be worth the money he wants.

I'd take either Briggs or Thomas. Either is a major upgrade at the LB spot. Steinbach is a little light to play guard for a Houck-style of line that emphasizes mass. Mike Gandy hasn't shown much and is hardly worth anything more than a look. Graham maybe if he's cheap. Oben probably would be a good vet to have if affordable and he's got the benefit of actually playing for Houck before.

I didn't say sign them all,I said we should TARGET!Briggs and one of those guys would be a significant upgrade to our current team. I truely think that Briggs is a lock. We don't need that much.
