Active Roster
UFA:
# 87 Kelley Washington
Position: WR
Height: 6-3
Weight: 218
Born: 08/21/1979
College: Tennessee
NFL Experience: 5
Big Play Potential with Great Size. Love this kid when he was coming out in the draft. I still remember watching him at Tennesee go for like 238 yards in one game. He has huge upside and would be reasonably priced.
# 20 Mike Doss
Position: SS
Height: 5-10
Weight: 207
Born: 03/24/1981
College: Ohio State
NFL Experience: 5
Has had some problems staying healty but has potential to be good. Could be reasonably priced due to past injuries. Hamlin would be first choice for safety though.
# 71 Toniu Fonoti
Position: G
Height: 6-4
Weight: 350
Born: 11/26/1981
College: Nebraska
NFL Experience: 6
Even if it is a backup role, He is the road grader type of blocker that Houck loves to work with and they have worked together in the past. Injuries again are a major concern here though. When healthy he has proved he can be dominant.
# 64 Kendyl Jacox
Position: G
Height: 6-2
Weight: 325
Born: 06/10/1975
College: Kansas State
NFL Experience: 10
Played ok when he filled in. He would have to be a backup. The main reason for him being listed on my list is because he is a big road grader type and he can play both Center and Guard. With his versatility we can carry one less backup lineman.
# 96 David Bowens
Position: DE
Height: 6-3
Weight: 265
Born: 07/03/1977
College: Western Illinois
NFL Experience: 8
Performed well last year in limited playing time. Also he is a key Special Teamer. Would be nice to have him back.
# 94 Keith Traylor
Position: NT
Height: 6-2
Weight: 337
Born: 09/03/1969
College: Central Oklahoma
NFL Experience: 17
Big man in the middle. I know age is a bad thing and injuries have been a problem. He can mentor those young guys that we have and be a stop gap if they need a year to get ready.
# 70 Alfonso Boone
Position: DT
Height: 6-4
Weight: 318
Born: 01/11/1976
College: Central State (Ohio)
NFL Experience: 7
Another big man in the middle. He can step up and stop the run. Don't know what he would cost though. I would prefer Traylor as a stop gap and then let the Wright Bros. and Evans take over with Holliday.
# 29 Roderick Hood
Position: DB
Height: 5-11
Weight: 196
Born: 10/03/1981
College: Auburn
NFL Experience: 5
Is a decent corner. Would be a great Nickel back if nothing else. Injuries have been a little bit of a problem, not bad. Money could be a limiting factor here. Also a decent Special Teamer.
# 18 Donte' Stallworth
Position: WR
Height: 6-0
Weight: 196
Born: 11/10/1980
College: Tennessee
NFL Experience: 6
Do I need to say much. It would be a great addition if his Hamstrings hold up. Would have to be an incentive laden deal in case of such injury or drug suspension.
# 82 Eric Johnson
Position: TE
Height: 6-3
Weight: 256
Born: 09/15/1979
College: Yale
NFL Experience: 7
May not need him. Sounds like Martin will be the guy and we have Peele as a backup. I would say get rid of Peele, but Cameron is familiar with Peele from his days in SD.
# 26 Ken Hamlin
Position: FS
Height: 6-2
Weight: 209
Born: 01/20/1981
College: Arkansas
NFL Experience: 5
Would be a great addition. Hard hitting Safety that can also be a ball hawk. Has good speed and recovery. Pretty good instincts. Money could be a factor here.
# 86 Jerramy Stevens
Position: TE
Height: 6-7
Weight: 265
Born: 11/13/1979
College: Washington
NFL Experience: 6
Don't know about this guy. Load of potential with his size but he needs some stickem' or something on his hands at times. I am undecided here. Blocking isn't superb.
# 77 Floyd Womack
Position: G
Height: 6-4
Weight: 330
Born: 11/15/1978
College: Mississippi State
NFL Experience: 7
Injuries have been somewhat of a problem and he did seem to be just average playing alongside of the Best LT in Walter Jones. How would he be with Shelton, Alabi or a draft pick along side him? Not sold on him, might be ok for a decent price tag.
RFA - Didn't pick anyone where we would have to give up a pick. Max Starks would have been ok but he would require a 1st rounder, not worth that.
# 36 B.J. Sams
Position: DB
Height: 5-10
Weight: 185
Born: 10/29/1980
College: McNeese State
NFL Experience: 4
Compensation: ROFR
Would be solely for KR/PR. Coming off of a major injury though. Has been very explosive in the past however. Could be worth the risk at a minimum price.
# 18 Terrance Copper
Position: WR
Height: 6-0
Weight: 207
Born: 03/12/1982
College: East Carolina
NFL Experience: 4
Compensation: ROFR
Decent size and good hands. I was very impressed with him last year when he filled in for Joe Horn. I think he would be a very good addition.
# 43 Maurice Hicks
Position: RB
Height: 5-11
Weight: 200
Born: 07/22/1978
College: North Carolina A&T
NFL Experience: 4
Compensation: ROFR
Miami has already looked at him. Not as explosive as Sams and not a PR. Would be a decent 3rd string HB if Ricky is back as 2nd String though. I wonder if Mueller will trade Ricky though. Doesn't seem to like him. I hope he doesn't!
