Hey guys, this is gonna be long. I've been a loyal Dolphins fan since 1966, when my dad, God bless his soul, took me as a little kid to all the games and instilled the passion that I still have for this team. I have also taught my two sons to be avid fans, and even though we no longer live in Miami we still go to training camp nearly every year and still attend games. Even with all the losses we still proudly wear our colors on game day, but I have to say that for the first time in +50 years of watching this team, I'm embarrassed to be a Dolphins fan. None of this gives me any special privileges or special entitlement, but it does give me perspective. I've met Don Shula and Joe Robbie, both great men of integrity, and grew up across the street from the Griese's, so I do have a strong sense of the roots of this franchise and the people who built it. Those of you who haven't been around as long as me, I want you to know that the Miami Dolphins have a history that is worth being proud of. Not just for the wins and Super Bowls, but for the people who built this great organization. This history needs to be preserved by cleansing the scum that are currently residing in our front office. This needs to happen immediately.

It's not important to get into what I do for a living but suffice it to say that I live in one of the biggest military communities in the US. I can say without reservation and with 100% certainty that the stuff that happened in our locker room to John Martin happens EVERY DAY to recruits in the Marine Corps and Army, and other branches of our military service to prepare them for battle. I know this as fact. I am totally annoyed that we have become a totally pussified country led by idiots in our government, and now their political correctness has crept into the NFL and networks like ESPN. I'm especially proud of the old school guys like Jimmy Johnson and Mike Ditka for coming forward today and telling it like it is. This is not a friggin workplace ESPN--it's a GD locker room! After watching Richie's interview today I'm even more convinced that the Dolphins are trying to use him as a scapegoat to cover their a$$e$, but good for Richie, he's not backing down. He's also not squealin on the front office--at least so far--but at some point he will bring down the whole house of cards if they try to make him take the fall. I kinda hope it happens.

If you're reading this Mr Ross, you've been duped by the employees who are working for you in Davie. They brought all of this garbage onto our once proud franchise and made us a laughingstock in the NFL. Everyone connected to this mess needs to go--Philbin, Ireland, and unfortunately, even Richie too. But I want his name cleared, at least as it pertains to the Martin fiasco. Martin will eventually be exposed for the fraud he is and silently blackballed from the league because no one wants that cancer in their locker room--even the PC crowd. If I'm wrong about any of this I'll be man enough to come on here and admit it, but I don't think I am. I hope the mods and those of you who support our players will consider putting this "Free Richie" thread at the top of the board, and pin it there until Richie is allowed to walk away with his name cleared. FREE RICHIE!!!

One more thing. I hope we beat the living crap out of the Suckaneers tomorrow night and skull drag them all over their field, to show the whole world how whacked out our locker room really is...GO DOLPHINS!

True lets free InCognito and Martin. To work for other teams in the league

Apparently, there is at least one team already interested in signing Richie, they didn't say who but they did say they are in playoff contention. Based on that and what Richie's dad said I would guess the Jets will claim him the second we release him.

As for Martin, whatever he studied in school I hope he likes it (actually I hope he hates it and sucks at it).

Ok, I am up late tonight cus I am taking tommorrow off of work. I have been a fan since 1971 superbowl and born in 64. I also was in the US Army and learned what getting beat up and smacked around is about or being forced to do something you dont want to do, but you have to to prove your one of the gang.

there are a few things I need to get cleared from your thread.

First, you bring up how this stuff happens everywhere, but then say we need to clean house? Not sure how that supports your argument to totally clean house.

Second, How did our FO dupe Ross? He basically hired Philbin himself! Much to Jeff Ireland's disagreement who wanted the guy in SD right now (who is now 4-5 with Phil Rivers).

Third, you want Richie freed but you blame the organization who brought him in.

Fourth, your name is dolphinheel. Is that like Bill Murry in Stripes where he desires to be the big toe?

Im pretty sure both players will find NFL jobs. They have both shown they are good enough phyiscally to play in the NFL.
Mentally they both need help for issues

Thanks for responding. My main issue is protecting the integrity of the organization, and I think when all is said and done that we will find out that a number of people have been less than honest, shown poor leadership and a low level of integrity in this whole matter and others. Like Jimmy Johnson said yesterday, Ireland knew, or should have known, what he was getting with both of these players. Most of the league had written off Richie and it now appears other teams "shied away" from Martin for what is now being called "mental issues." It is also not known yet what the coaches knew and when they knew it about a number of issues concerning both of these players. I really doubt that Ross knew anything about this situation, the whole golf course cover up and probably other issues. There's probably much more to come. For all of those reasons and the fact that Ireland has already shown himself to be a dirtbag and also incompetent at his job should have him first out the door.

Philbin is more complicated. I think he is a good man but in way over his head. If he says he knew nothing about this situation then if I were Ross I would ask "why not?" The head coach should have an ear to the ground on everything, but the thing I'm hearing is that he's not approachable at all and doesn't like anyone questioning him. Last years team of leaders came to him to discuss their concerns and now all of then are gone. That's VERY concerning and a bad leadership trait--to get rid of all dissent. If Richie or Martin do not directly implicate him, and he is able to somehow rally this team into the playoffs, he may be able to save his job. Other than that I think he's will be a part of the house cleaning too. JMHO Nice guy--bad leader.

My main issue with how Richie is being treated is that everyone knew who Richie was but yet they acted surprised when he continued his antics in Miami. I don't believe he bullied anyone. If the Dolphins try to use him as a scapegoat that's wrong, and I promise you he will start talking and bring the leadership down with him if he has to. Right now he's waiting to see what happens on Dec 2nd, because that's the day the organization must keep him or cut him loose. If he didn't bully then he should be reinstated. He should be able to continue to play through this year (the last year of his contract), earn a living and have his name cleared from this scandal. Every team in the league will have to weigh the risks in their locker room, but at least Richie can still earn a living.

As far as the whole dolphinheel thing--I'm a Tar Heel. Alum from UNC and lifelong Dolphin fan. FREE RICHIE!

Richie should be back on THIS team, THIS season!! Make it happen Dolphins. Do the right thing!!

Find it interesting that teams are already openly telling guys like Peter King that they would pick up Richie if he is cut.

Why would you be surprised?

Because this is a really toxic public relations situation and Richie isn't that good. I think a team would have to feel very strongly that Martin is the biggest problem in the situation to even consider that move.

Like it or not, he's just the sort of player a team would want.

I'm sure there are GMs throwing gas on the Miami fire simply so they'll have
a shot at picking RI up.

I don't think anyone in the NFL wants to throw gas on this fire. This thing impacts everyone. In fact, I'd guess that the entire NFL is collectively hoping Martin gets stomped on here or simply goes away immediately.
