The Dolphins will go after Flynn if Philbin tells them that Flynn is the answer.
If Philbin is not comfortable hitching his Rookie HC wagon to Flynn then I trust his judgement. It would be a lot easier to push for Flynn since he has familiarity with the offense. The more gutsy move is to say no to Flynn.
 
Reason why it could be the Redskins is because, the Redskins have the only idiotic owner in the NFL that will give Manning a fully guaranteed contract.
 
If Manning goes to the Redskins, I am going to PRAY that Flynn goes to Cleveland. Think about it, with both Cleveland and Washington out of the QB race we are sitting pretty for RG3 at 8 or 9. We may have to move up a little, but not to ****ing 2.
An off season without Manning could look like this if Flynn goes to Cleveland as well :

CUTS/ Let them walk - Yeremiah Bell, Vernon Carey, Solai
Re-sign - Langford
FA - Mario Williams, Reggie Nelson, Anthony Collins, cheap 4-3 OLB

Draft - Rd 1 - RG3
Rd 2 - Best TE available (Fleener/Charles)
Rd 3 - Joe Adams (deep threat WR/KR)

^ Hard on until September.

I find that hard to believe, especially wit Eli winning another Super Bowl. Peyton would like another shot for 1 more ring and he wouldn't have enough time in Washington.:err:
 
the more reports and sources saying peyton is going elsewhere , besides miami, the more confident i am he will play in miami this year.
 
yes im sure aside from the fact that manning does not even know if he is going to regain his full strength in time, he has already told friends and family, and everyone else that in his attempt to make a comeback and play for the final 3 -4 years of his career, he would like to go no other place than the Washington redskins, with arguably the most dysfunctional owner in the nfl ( yes Snyder is worse than Ross, Ross is still early) a team that has basically no talent on offense to help him, his best wr being Santana moss who is guaranteed to miss time with injury each year, playing against his brother 2 times, but ya im sure he already made up his mind that he wants to go of all places, not to San Fran where they have a top defense and are a qb away from prob representing the NFC in the Superbowl, not to Miami where he can play in warm weather, have a good defense, a top wr in Marshall, a good run game, different conference then his brother, not Arizona where he can at least throw to arguably the best wr in the game Fitzgerald, but the Washington ****ing redskins.

yup,these nfl ''sources'' keep getting better and better.
 
Speaking of the one liner: next year is going to be fun boys. Even with the 0 -7 start we played some damn good football this year. With a smart coach and a solid QB (hopefully), we'll be fun to watch and very hard to beat.
 
The best new's I heard all day this thread went from depressing to inspiring.

Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn signed to other teams that need QB's leaving the dolphins with a better option to move up and get RGIII, SWEET!!!!
 
My prediction is that Manning does not sign with the Dolphins or the Redskins. I think ultimately he will end up in a place like Arizona or, gulp, New York(Jets). I think Matt Flynn will sign with the Dolphins.
 
i'm thinking flynn will be a dolphin also...i think we miss on manning and get flynn...but like i said before we better not string out flynn waiting for manning or we could lose there also...flynns market i'm guessing will be white hot from the jump in free agency...within 72 hrs he'll have a new home

I anticipate Miami being that home. Manning will be on the market almost a full week before free agency begins, so the Dolphins should have time to kick his tires and see where he is from a health standpoint. If he is healthy in their mind, perhaps he will be a Dolphin, but I think he will medically scare them away. I am not convinced that Manning will ever take another professional snap. Once they have their guage on Manning they can decide whether to go with him or move on to their next choice.

Now I assume it is possible that Flynn may never be on the radar, because Philbin knows Flynn the best out of anybody. If they don't pursue him it shows that Philbin doesn't believe all the hype. Though I bet Philbin does believe the hype and they go after him. If Miami wants Flynn, I don't think it will be a hard sell to land him. You have Philbin, a very good defense, and weapons for Flynn to use in Marshall and Bush.
