Freeman: Everyone I speak to in the NFL says Manning to Redskins

Yes i know that thank you. Did you know that the players did not know that when they were playing? and even if they know they were already eliminated (which they did not) are you telling me that since they wThere eliminated Sanchez would have thrown those 3ints on purpose? or the defense let Moore lead a 21 play TD drive?

It is not necessarily Moore's fault that he hasnt had a chance to play in a "big game" but regardless its a "what have you done for me lately league" correct? Well lately....Sanchez choked terribly in his "big game" and in his most "lately" season he regressed and was a turn over machine

The team was essentially dead going into the game, much like 2008 in week 17. Sure they had a shot but it was an outside shot and losses in previous weeks had cut the heart out of this team.

Sanchez was awful in 2011 late but in '09 and '10 he was really good in postseason.

I don't know how you could possible say that, you were not mathematically eliminated unless you lost. Yes if the Jets won they needs some key losses to get into he playoffs but the fact is, they didn't even close out on a 5-10 team which at least gave them a shot for help to get in.

Good teams play hard in tough situations, average and bad teams skate through, win some/lose some. The Jet were a bad team down the stretch in 2011, no denying that.

We weren't a good team this past season.

So because the Jets had slim playoff hopes in 2008 and 2011 they didn't come fully prepared or confident to play in Week 17 against Miami? That screams poor coaching. Mangini lost his job after losing to the Dolphins in 2008, and now it appears Rex is having similar problems. Rex has his work cut out for him this offseason and upcoming season. The Jets are a mess from the top to bottom, everyone sees that except for some Jets fans. I think it is more likely the Jets complete the collapse and win only a few games then make the playoffs. Long year ahead for the second best NFL team in New Jersey.

no..this is what happens
when your big brother kicks your azz. you just dont want to play anymore

I know Miami wasn't a good team last year, what I was eluding to is the fact that the Jets were not either. If they were they would have come out and outplayed Miami and at least put themselves in a position to catch a break and make the playoffs.

But like the average team the Jets were, they withered and died just like a unwatered flower after a week of 100 degree heat.

That screams poor coaching? maybe in 2008 when they were 8-3 and finished 9-7, this year we had a flawed team all year long and the team had slim hopes going into week 17 and even had we won we wouldn't have made the playoffs. The bottom line is this team wasn't good enough to be a playoff team this year.

I'll bet anything you want to bet that the Jets don't win just a few games this coming season. I can say that not knowing what our roster will look like, there's very little doubt this team will be a playoff contender at the least.

Obviously we weren't very good, if we were they wouldn't have fallen short of the playoffs. We were average, Miami was bad.

There isn't much difference between a C and a D team. Miami graded out as a D and the Jets as a C, so clearly both are in need of much improvement next season.

Absolutely both need to improve. The difference btw the 2 is our team has been close to a SB in recent years and knows how to win. This was one bad year(for now) where as you guys had to overhaul the coaching staff. I expect both teams will be better but I think our ceiling is higher, that doesn't mean we'll be better again but I'd be surprised if we weren't uless something crazy happens this offseason.

yes your team knows how to win, that world beater 8-8 team that got backdoored into the playoffs really took the world by storm, the way you describe those 2 fantasy seasons is like they were 14-2, 15-1 each season led by a combo of Peyton/Montana/Elway/Marino at QB, i will give you the 2010 regular season as they earned a spot and werent given one for free, however again they had last second and OT wins against the Lions, Texans, Browns where if they were so great as you describe them, they should have beaten at least one of those 3 teams convincigly like you see a Saints or Packers or Patriots team do regulary to bad teams

you say unless something crazy happens the Jets will be better than the Phins like its a guarntee, just as useless as Rex's last 3 super bowl guarntees, i can see if they made another magic playoff run for you to be so optimistic and overly confident, but the Jets team last season was extremely underwhelming, what would you say was their best win last season? their 6 point win against a Charger team that couldnt beat out Tebow for a division? they beat ZERO teams with a winning/over .500 record, im not saying the Dolphins beat great teams because they didnt, but you describe the Jets like they are carrying over big momentum from last season and they played great, they have a fair amount of holes, bad team chemistry, a loud mouth distracting coach, a new OC whos never run an NFL offense in his life or shown he can even run an offensive line yet he is an OL coach, horrible cap space situation, players ripping the locker room with a coach who had no idea apparantely anything was happening, and your captain acting like a 5 year old who had to get put in timeout

we have more talent, a better CS and big game experience. Again, nothing is guaranteed but only a Miami homer would favor the dolphins over the Jets at this point.

 Only a Jets homer would say something like this.

We don't really know if the Jets have a better coaching staff now. I'd say they absolutely did when Sparano and co. were here, but this is a fresh staff (for the most part) and nobody knows how they will fare yet. So as of right now, the "better CS" piece is subjective at best.

I would also say that the Jets have a more volatile locker room and a team that no longer believes in their quarterback (regardless of what the media will say). The defense is also getting older. I think the Jets have regressed more than you'd like to admit and aren't that far away from just being a middle-of-the-pack team again (like they were this year).

I will say that the Jets at least have a playmaker (Revis) that I would love for the Dolphins to have, but realistically, I think the Dolphins' offense is in better shape than the Jets right now. No clue on the defense (right now I'd give the edge to the Jets), but the Dolphins are younger and potentially moving to a new system. I have no idea if that will work out, but I'd like to think that Coyle can light a fire under the ***** of the under performing guys (Davis, Smith, etc). We'll see, because after all, right now all we can do is speculate.

Yeah you caught some breaks and the team took advantage of them when they needed too. If you had Eli on your team you might have won two Super Bowls by now.
