I figured going into camp frerotte was going to have a significant edge because of his familiarity with the system.. but as of day 5 it doesnt seem so... maybe frerotte has a slight edge but that would be it. Sooooooo if they come out of camp and are basically even who is Saban going to go with ??

Jay Fielder because he gives us the best chance to win. Damn hard to realize Wanny is not still coach. lol

Ya know, I was gonna start a thread asking the same exact question, but if they are even when camp breaks, I don't see why they wouldn't start Feeley

I realize that AJ didn't remind anyone of #13 or #12, but he did show some things...IF the OL is indeed improved, as everyone (including myself) thinks HH can, AJ may just be the guy we're looking for...Is he a #13 or #12, no and probably won't be...but he may just be enough....If we end up with Gus running the show...it'll be a long year...perhaps longer than last year because he has proven that he can't handle the starting job consistently in his past. We have a lot of good things going right now...how well AJ develops will go a long way to determining how long our season is...

What has AJ done to deserve that chance besides being the last regimes overpriced leftover, I say they should let whomever plays better start. I want to win now not wait to develope anyone. Coach Saban even said so in his interview, when asked "how much time do you need to turn the program around , Saban said, "I don't need anytime" He wants to win now!

Exactly, just because we wasted a 2nd rnd pick for aj feeley doesnt mean we should start him. start the best guy. Frerotte did start 2 games for minny last season and he put up pretty good numbers. Start the better man.

Edit: if feeley and frerotte are the EXACT same skill wise coming out of TC...well saban will start to look like wanny and play musical quarterbacks.

Thats a good question, well we got to see them play in games hopefully we wont have to play musical QB again, We should find out before or at the end of preseason.

aj has to play at some point this season and for more than just 1 game. we gave up a 2nd round pick and are paying him like 3 mil this year and you can't have that on the bench unless we are in contention and the guy infront of him is that much better. frerotte is not that much better. there is too much invested in feeley and we have to find out soon whether or not we flat out busted on this move so we can try to make the best of it (cut feeley, then go looking for rick)

I would hope that if they were identical then AJ would start. Not just because I'm biased, but the fact that he's younger and would have the oppertunity to be a fin longer than gus....

hey female finfan did anyone ever tell you that you are indee cute? i am pulling for whoever wins the job i will say this i wouldnt mind seeing what sage can do.

its got to be feeley , he needs to figure out if feeley is the future, asap. ferrotte will be probably be gone next year anyways and he's definetly not the future. so go with feeley, if he stinks it up put in gus and start preparing to draft a qb or trade for one.

First of all, this would be a pretty good scenario because an injury to the starter wouldn't mean the end of the season. I have to go with Feeley, he's younger and might has more experience with our receivers.
