There is alot of talk going on now about Miami bringing in a veteran QB. There is no real chance of that happening this year. Frerotte is plugging the gap for Miami at QB right now. He has no long-term future. Everyone knows that. But he has played one full season for Miami, and has become the starting QB.

QBs like McNair would not change anything at the QB position. All it would do is make Miami's offense take 2 steps back to get used to the leadership of McNair or whoever. Why would you do that for another guy with only a couple years of football left in him?

So, who does that leave as potential future Dolphin QBs? Any QB from college, or other professional leagues, will be a strong candidate. Miami is still looking for those developmental QBs. In addition to those guys, Miami will be looking at young veterans. QBs with a few years of NFL experience under their belts. These guys would be strong candidates for taking over some time during next season.

Of the young veteran free agent QBs, Carr is talked about alot. Personally, I don't think he is a fit for Miami. But he would fall into this category as a possibility if Texas releases him.
