Frerotte Or Feeley??....Anyone Really Care??

Gus has had 3 weeks working with the 1st team and he STILL hasn't got the timing with his receivers. He overthrows too many passes and he has no touch at all on his short passes and checkdowns to the RB's. At least Feeley is showing improvement with the offense which is much more than I can say for Gus.

Feeley has shown improvement hitting the TE and RB's for 3 yard gains. He hit Danny Farmer, my god! Danny Farmer in the fourth quarter when the fourth stringers were in Im exagerrating again, but to make a point). So you automatically asume that he is right on target with his WR's? I dont think so. Another point here is that Linehan wants to go long with this team, Is there any indication that Linehan, Is gonna hand Feeley the keys when he doesnt go long and hits the easy pass to the RB just about every time? I think Linehan doesnt want to rely on a guy who is not as good at reading the defense and is not as nimble in the pocket. Feeley does fine when he roles and stuff, but when he has to sit back there for five seconds, not so good. Those are the things Linehan is looking at.

Don't get me wrong, I care about our QB's. I just don't care who starts considering that they're both about as even as you can get right now....

PHINZ RULE!!!

But they are not even. Gus does the little things better and Feeley has good stat numbers cus he has padded his stats hitting the short stuff that ends up not getting you a first down. Statistically, Feeley better, pocket presence and ability to get the ball downfield without getting killed, Frerrote much better.

This is how I feel as well.

I trust Saban's judgment as to which QB can best lead the team. I don't care which one he picks.

Wow I can't believe it, there actually is ONE THING that we agree on...

I'd rather connect on short stuff for first downs than air the ball out for consistant incompletions, but that's just me.

I think the whole point of this thread is that there simply isn't enough evidence that one of these QB's is significantly better than the other. With Gus, you get better reads and pocket presence but poor timing and accuracy. With AJ, you get better accuracy and timing with poor reads and pocket awareness. The two are basically a wash when it comes to overall ability, and I suspect the Dolphins will/would see similar end results regardless which of these two they play. The fan debate is just a matter of taking the guy with the skill set they value most, and since they are complete opposites in their skills and weaknesses, it has really polarized the debate. I think that is a mistake.

From a purely business POV, I would like to see Feeley start. Not because I think he will be more successful, but because I think he is the unknown variable. Everyone knows what Gus is and what Gus can do. That can't be said of Feeley, at least not honestly. Feeley has never had enough starting time to prove his abilities, and the starting time he has seen was with the worst OL and OC in the NFL. Gus has no upside...AJ might. Now, it may not be much upside or it could be a lot...but some is better than none at all (Gus). I just want the chance to determine once and for all if Feeley belongs on this roster past this season or not, and only a starting role is going to provide that. If he can't raise his level of play, then we promptly cut him and Gus in the offseason and we start our hunt for a legit starter. This team is rebuilding, and that requires a full and complete evaluation at every position. We are not playoff bound, it's time to accept that and finally get a true evalution of what we have.

of course i care... i think feeley should be starter because thats what would be best for the organization as a whole... if feeley and frerotte are dead even right now, might as well start the guy that we're invested in and who is inexperienced who can grow... most likely he wont pan out as anything great, but theres an outside chance and might as well hope for that if frerotte wont do any better...

Okay, then lets start Sage!

i think feeley overtime with good pass protection could turn into a great qb

why hes not even with them and he doesn't have the potential that feeley has...

Says who?? He hasn't gotten the chance. He needs to play a whole year, then we would be able to tell. He hasn't been given a fair chance!

Sound familiar???:shakeno:

Saban just need to name one and go with him, I don't care if it's Gus or AJ at this point, they are nothing but backup players!
