Frerotte: `You can put that all on me'

The Dolphins failed to score touchdowns on consecutive possessions in the first half, coming away with only field goals, and quarterback Gus Frerotte accepted the blame.

Running back Ricky Williams isn't much into stats, but he knows there's one that applies all the time in football.

It's a lot easier to win when you're counting by six rather than three.

This isn't a case of Williams espousing numerology. It's more about the reality of how the Dolphins put themselves in a hole in the first half when they failed to score touchdowns after getting to Kansas City's 10- and 5-yard lines on back-to-back possessions.

''You can put that all on me,'' Frerotte said.

hope he gets benched.

dont post whole article as it is against the law.

post a little bit of it and do a link to the full article.

You get the ball within the 10 yard line due to a great punt return, a half way decent offense ALWAYS score a TD. 90% blame on Frerotte and Lienhan. 10% on OL.

''We have to score touchdowns down there,'' quarterback Gus Frerotte said. ``It's a deflating mind-set when you get six instead of 14 on those two drives. We have to get that attitude and ****iness back that we had earlier in the season and play hard on every down.''

Maybe Gus, if you knew how to pass the ball, and hit the WR's in the hands, this wouldnt be a problem. Geez. I think this guy is actually worse than Fiedler. :baghead:

Dont worry Gus.. We will.. :)

Linehan gets some blame too.. He was almost pulling a reverse-Wanny with his pass-oriented stubborness.

You have to like the leader of the offense standing up and taking it like a man.

Good for him.

I think he's better than Fiedler. He didn't have a whole lot of time to throw.

Either way, he's not going to lead us to the promise land.

Kelly Holcomb would have been a much better pick-up.

The season is over for us... our defense won't get better - the injuries are making us worse. I'm getting real tired of losing - and it doesn't look like anything's going to change. The Bills, the Bucs and the Chiefs have all exploited our teams weaknesses. QB is definitely one of them....

I hear you, but honestly it is far from over. And I hope the players and coaches have not given up.

two things I know for sure, Gus missed alot of passes....especially booker in the end zone...Chambers down the sidelines...Gus is on his sixth or seventh team.....lets make it one more

we (ronnie)did score......penalty brought it back

Booker was wide open and o-line didn't give gus time and he missed the throw......you are way off

Manning, McNabb, Roethlesberger, Brees, Collins, Favre, Green heck even Vick all make that throw. Fiedler even makes that throw.

It was a bad throw short sweet and simple. Had he put some touch on it maybe.

Bad throw no defending it. He had plenty of time on that throw. He waited to long to throw and and then he forgot to set his feet when he waited too long and allowed the defense to get pressure on him.

I watched this play 10 times on NFL live. They critiscized him for holding the ball too long and not setting his feet.

He had the time and he had the open man. He just, yet again, blew it.
