Frerotte's starter stats

It is AJ's job as the incumbent starting QB. It is up to gus to take it from him and that has not happened.

This isn't so -- nobody is entitled to a job based on the performance of this team last year. The starters are who Nick says they are. End of story.

This is a new offense. I dont think either one should be handed the job. Freotte is familiar with the system, but not the personnel. Feeley is familiar with the personnel, but not the system. Who ever wins the job needs to perform in practice and preseason games. JMO

I never heard it was AJ's job to be taken away, in fact the last I heard, Saban said Gus was slightly ahead.

Another fact I heard Saban say, was it was an open comp for every postion, isn't that how it should be?

I would hope so or we are back in the Wanny era!

Gus 48% completed passes AJ 65% completed passes. Against starting defenses Gus 45% AJ 60% but AJ only has 7 tosses against a starting D We need to see more next week to really compare.

exactly what i said in another thread, we need to wait then if gus overcomes aj then he should be named starter and if aj ovr comes gus we have some issues because it will be a dead even race but right now gus is ahead by a little

Frerotte had all of his snaps against the Steelers first team defense. Feeley had alot of snaps against the second and third stringers. I'm not for or against either one. I do believe the coaches will play the guy that gives our beloved Dolphins the best chance to win. Whom ever it is, I at least will support him. Remember these coahes get paid to win, If they dont sooner or later they will be fired. If Gus starts it is because he practiced better than Feeley in camp and vice versa.

This post tells me you did not see nor hear the game and are simply believing what your being told. Feeley had 2 series in second quarter and 2 in the third, the ONLY series against 2nd teamers was his last (4th series). Don't believe the BS being dealt here it was AJ's show last night, long or short passes dosen't matter Moving the Chains does and that's what AJ DID!!! Up until Gus's last series he was 2 for 9 for a total of 7 - That's RIGHT 7 YARDS TOTAL!!!! Gus is just like that other A**Clown we sent up to the JETS-Throw it up and PRAY!!!!

Feeley should start Saturday. And if he can play well (against a good D) than maybe we should let him start the season at QB.
Agreed. Frerotte has gotten two chances to prove himself and he hasn't. Feeley had his one chance cut short by injury and in that one chance he didn't look bad. He didn't wow anyone, but he sure didn't look as off as Gus was last night. If AJ looks bad, then you keep going, but Gus proved last night AJ needs another chance.

aj doesn't need another chance. if he can't get on the board vs guys who are gonna be bagging groceries in a week, how is he gonna get on the board vs starters? my tally has stayed the same, despite frerotte's horrid start last night: gus 13 aj 0, that's the only stat that matters.

Gus blew any chance to lay claim to the starting position. We'll see what Saban says, (the only stat that matters) but I think Feeley's the starter

Aj may have moved the chains but it lead to no points. Just like when AJ started the week before.. when gus came in after AJ. Regardless of who your rooting for, neither #1 or #2 QB has led to point. Embarrassing. I find it hard for anyone to throw their weight behind anyone at the moment. AJ & Gud havent taken anything by the horns.
AJ was the man coming into camp. They brought Gus in on purpose because of his knowledge of the sysytem, and his experience. It abvious the entire offensive unit is having difficulty. This is exactly the same as last year when no-one stepped up.

I dont think his performance lead to him being the starter yet. i just think he was better this week. If anything it casts more doubt into the whole frey!

The Players are behind Frerotte. Most fans are behind feeley. To me.. it seems that both QBs are doomed because they may never be embraced by the fans. Maybe no QB ever will again.

I agree with you on Feeley

But u notice how behind a solid O-line Fiedler is doing very well. 4 td's 1 INT with 1 rushing TD.

Looks like there is more to this whole pass protection thing after all.

Feeley's rating and completion percentage as a starter this preseason are better then Gus's.

Doesn't matter whether he only had 7 attempts or not.

Those of you who say he only had 7 attempts against a starting D so therefor we can't judge him on that and say he was better are the same ones who will say Frerotte is better and totally discredit that Feeley has had only 7 pass attempts.

Oh the irony in this whole QB controversy.

Who has he named as the starting QB? When he makes that decison, it's a done deal, no sense in arguing about it. Until then, I think that Feeley should be the starter unless the job is clearly taken away from him. I think Nick would be settling for gus and in a sense shirking his responsibility to the long term success of this franchise by going with gus instead of doing his job by coaching Feeley into whatever he can get out of him.
