I am saddened by the people on this messageboard that are gloating with the news of Feeley's demotion. I am depressed by the state of Miami's QB position, and in a way encouraged by Saban's intentions. I feel that this gets to the root of Saban's psychology as it relates to determining a players desire and willingness to apply himself in a determined and ambitious way. Unfortunately I do not think that Sage has the right character to challenge himself and achieve the goals that Saban wants him to. This is what I believe Feeley has failed at, and Saban is giving him one more chance to realize and apply these lessons as it relates to his position with the Dolphins.

What about Frerotte? Well, I've written plenty of what I think of Frerotte's placement as the starting QB of this offense. I believe that the QB competition was not a phoney competition but was the ultimate test for Feeley. This is one last opportunity for him, and hopefully an opportunity that Sage will take advantage of.

This Feeley haters are last years Fiedler Huggers. They refuse to acknowledge that AJ outplayed Gus this preseason as a whole.

Let them gloat. I am confident that Gus Fielder will not do them any favors.

You are making a mockery of this entire scenario, I wish that you'd stop and rethink your intentions.

I think Nick is going to ride this year out w/ a caretaker and get aggressive in the off-season looking for a QB. IMHO.

Your post nailed it on the head and is very similar to what I have been stating. Feeley had his whole future in front of him, a possible starter for our team. How did he respond to the challenge? Meekly, to say the least. Saban must be disgusted at AJ's failure to seize this very important moment in his career. Thus the demotion.

To say that A.J. outplayed Gus.....I don't know. Sure, he played better in some games. But his worst was far worse. He doesn't deserve to start.

I think Sage outplayed both of them. And I think he'll get his shot because I don't have a whole lot of confidence in Frerotte. Plus I think Saban has winning at the top of his list of priorities.

Saban isn't done with this roster. You know he isn't happy with the QB play. Should we have drafted Kyle Orton over Travis Daniels?? Couldn't tell ya. I just know that it was going to be impossible to solve this POS in one year.

IMO the best way for Saban to defuse the conflict (which is assumed) as a result of this demotion is to trade/cut Feeley and grab a FA to plug in the hole. I don't think Saban will suffer a petulant player for long.

Greg Bedard reported that the Phins are trying to trade him.

Oh yeah, t hats what it is..

Is it possible to not like both QBs? Or must we always pick sides..

I myself dont like Fiedler, Feeley, or Frerotte.

I guess you like to pick your turd and stick with it. Now your pissed because your hands are covered with poo and you have nowhere to wipe them.

Keep Cryin..

how was his worse far worse? he threw a pick 6 and gus fumbled one for 6 come on now! feeley percentage was better, his long ball was better? what do you ask gus also had startign o-line? these gus excuses are so old and sorry!

I'm amazed at many of you throwing your "allegiance" to just one player. Saying so and so is better then another. Lets get real here. None of us are the coach. None of us have the knowledge that they do. None of us have seen all of the practices. None of us have seen the playbook. None of us have seen if any of the QB's have a better grasp of the playbook or not.

Sheesh. I thought this was a MIAMI DOLPHINS forum. Not individual player forums.

Saban was given a half eaten sandwich to work with. Not a lot to go on. Plus, with all the cuts coming, who's to say we don't pick up someone off of wire or FA?

So are the Feeley excuses. They're both HORRIBLE. Ideally we should cut them both and sign Couch and bring back Berlin. If nobody emerges from that draft a top-flight QB next year.

It's not about two plays bro. A.J.'s performance against the Falcons was the worst performance by a Dolphins QB this season.

And where do you get "excuses" from?? I didn't make any excuses for Gus. I barely mentioned him. In fact, I said I don't have much faith in him and that Sage outplayed both of them.

I don't know if Frerotte has a penchant for fumbling the ball. But I know that A.J. has a penchant for throwing bad passes that go back for six points the other way.

Just to let you know Fiedler had a better qb rating on the season last year then AJ did and i think gus outplayed feeley anyways and feeley went against the back ups. and just to let you know i think saban agrees with me considering AJ is #3 qb now.
