I was diagnosed and treated for this 19 years ago. I am a little confused as to your statements. Could you elaborate on why it is you need a petition and raise awareness? I can tell you just about anything you would like to know as I have dealt with it for a long time and was diagnosed and treated by the president of the endocrine society of Florida.

My older Brother had it, they killed his thyroid with iodine radiation, he had to live with me when he went through the treatment because he was to radioactive to be around his kids. He lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks when it first set in because it was so overactive. My brother is healthy and well now, it's been well over ten years and he is now 43 and extremely healthy. Good luck man!!!!!

i've been living with graves disease for the last seven years.
and in those 7 years i've not had the best treatment or care that i think people with any kind of illness .deserve
also at the same token i have come to realize that not much is known about what causes this disease, furthermore. in today's day in age. i don't think it is right to have doctors treating people with this disease when they don't even have a clue as to what this disease is or how to fix it. Would any of you ?
simply suggesting to people to swallow a iodine pill or to remove the thyroid is no longer acceptable.
IMO the only reason they suggest this is the doctors don't have a clue. and it's easier for the doctors to treat the side effects that come after swallowing the iodine pill.
