Dan (Chicago): Mort, will Brett Favre's injury limit him next Monday night at all?

Chris Mortensen: (1:35 PM ET ) This should answer the Favre questions: I don't think it's a lock that he plays. That being said, I expect him to play ebcause he's Favre. But this injury usually causes players to miss two-to-four games. If Mike Sherman thinks it's going to put Brett at risk, then he'll have to make a tough decision.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frank (Miami): Hey Mort, What do you think of Ray Lucas? Do you think he is going to have another bad performence, if so do you think the 3rd String QB-Sage Rosenfels is capable of making the Dolphins win again. Ricky Williams has been struggling, do u think is the O-line? Thanks

Chris Mortensen: (1:39 PM ET ) I have thought well of Ray Lucas until that disastrous showing against the Bills. So now with a bye week, maybe he'll settle down. Unquestionably, he has to prove to teams he is playing that he can beat them, otherise Ricky Williams will get a lot of extra attention. And, listen, even the greatest backs of all time went through games where they only gain 49, 60, 50 yards.,..whatever.... you do have to give credit to the other guys.

Just thought you all would like to see these......

Thanks BM, it's nice to have all the up-to-date news.

I live in Vegas and work in a Casino and always check the board. I have watched the line on the game slowly come down from 5.5 to where it stands now at 4. I think Favre not practicing until Saturday plus the fact he might not play at all weigh in. If he does play the question is how much does the injury affect him?Lucas hopefully settles down and we steal one

You know what really is funny about this whole Favre thing? ESPN's sunday morning show did a big piece on how he puts backups out of jobs because he is so durable. He then proceeds to get injured that very night. Green Bay should boycott ESPN from doing anymore stories on him.

He still picked us in the preseason to finish last, and the Jets to win the division. He also stated that just because we got Ricky doesn't makes us a challenger to win the AFC East (all this after we were tied for first in the East the previous season). He also made some not so good references about Ricky (I don't remember exactly what) but I'm sure some of my fellow Fin brethren remember. I'm just waiting to give Mort a big slice of crow pie.

Analysts are a joke only to entertain the brainless idiots that sit on the couch 10 hours a day watching tv.
They know nothing more than any of us.
Most of these guys also picked the NY Mets to win the world series....... They finished dead last in their division if I'm not mistaken. Enough said.

Imo Favre is a great QB and is extremely tough, I want him on the field playing Monday night, but if he is going to play just to keep a stupid streak going then he just dropped a little on my respect meter. Why risk further injury or career ending injury?
His mobility will be limited and the Fins thrive on getting to immobile QBs. I could understand somewhat if it was a bad defense he was going up against, but even then I would question the call.

Favre wouldn't play just to keep a streak going. He would play because of his love of the game. This is the reason why he is one of the best.

A leader never wants to get off the battlefield.

Sherman is just playing Favre cause he does not want a QB contraversy if Pedersen comes in a wins again

Very well said, Superself.

There is no way Favre would risk injuring himself even further as his goal above all is to win the Super Bowl. One non-conference game will not win Favre the SB and he knows it.
