That was the first thing I noticed.Notice the time in the pocket.
In a real game Tua might have hit the short pass route. Yet this is practice and the coaches might have wanted Tua to throw the pass where it went. They might as well see what the rookie can do and him dropping a pass right in his hands was not a good look. The guy running the 5yard out is completely open, probably could have got the same yardage as the intended pass.
They are all in shorts and the defense is playing very vanilla. All the offensive linemen have to do is block the man in front of him and Tua doesn’t have to worry about being hit in practice.Notice the time in the pocket.
Yeah you never know from these. In a real game Tua might have hit the short pass route. Yet this is practice and the coaches might have wanted Tua to throw the pass where it went. They might as well see what the rookie can do and him dropping a pass right in his hands was not a good look.
The routes and the formation caused the two defenders to run into each other leaving 2 receivers open. Last season there would have been 3 routes finishing on top of each other and the receivers would have run into each other. So yeah, it looks totally different. Tua is going to be running plays that are well designed this season.Offense looks totally different after 1 play? Just because a WR motions to the right? Last year Waddle did a lot of motion as well. If you tell me Tua has more time in the pocket, I will definitely agree.... But Come on!!!! Offense looks totally different from a regular empty backfield/Shotgun formation with 4 WR?
He was covered. The defender ran into the other defender. But he was still over the top. It was the right read. He could have checked it down. But he made the right decision. The guy running the 5yard out is completely open, probably could have got the same yardage as the intended pass.
