From Miracle To A Debacle As Miami Dolphins’ Hopes Die

It was nothing we haven’t seen from the Dolphins in previous Decembers, or, for that matter, in previous games this season.

But it still managed to have a fresh feel, this particular installment of December Dolphins disappointment.

Consider Vikings 41, Dolphins 17, the bitter chaser to the sweet Miami Miracle that this team gave us only one week earlier.

When Dolphins defensive end Robert Quinn compared this Dolphins season to a roller coaster, he was right. That last-play touchdown against the Patriots was the highest of the highs, followed Sunday by the lowest of the lows, followed now by the realization that all rollercoaster rides come to an end just as sure as the 2018 season just did for Miami.

Four teams began the day in a logjam for the final AFC wild-card spot. Only one lost.

It is a disappointment for sure but I don't find myself being crushed by this defeat, I didn't expect a win or for the Phins to make the playoffs this season. The realization for me is simple, the Dolphins are not a very good football team and unless we make drastic changes and find a new direction, we are going to be going through this for another decade. Many of you guys are smarter than I am with higher football IQ's....you know this.

All I know is we've been swimming in a river of mediocrity for far too damn long. It's time to find a coach who can bring in a quality coaching staff for starters. Get a GM and personnel men who know what kinds of players it takes to win in the NFL.
