Omar Kelly, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland and the team do not feel comfortable with the talent in this year's draft at offensive tackle, cornerback, receiver and nose tackle. Ireland noted that the team needs to identify more defensive players who can pressure the quarterback.

Omar Kelly, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, reports the Miami Dolphins have received trade offers for the top selection in the 2008 NFL Draft, according to general manager Jeff Ireland. Ireland expects more offers to come as the draft approaches, but at the moment the team is prepared to use their No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

If you read the original article, we're not happy with the talent at OT, CB, WR and NT currently on the team...not in the draft.

Actually sounded like he was fairly confident the phone would begin to ring within the next week here.

I think you need to read it again.

Ireland said the team used free agency to address the roster's depth problems that contributed to the Dolphins going 1-15 last season, and that should allow the decision makers to take the best available player with each of their nine selections.

As far as needs, Ireland said there are still a couple of holes, and pointed out that the Dolphins don't feel comfortable with the talent at offensive tackle, cornerback, receiver and nose tackle. He said they also need to identify more defensive players who can pressure the quarterback.

If you listen to him...and you believe him...the phone has rung...and he feels it will ring more closer to the draft.

All we need is CHAD JOHNSON....it wouldn't be hard to pry him away from Cincy at this point. That's what I would do.
