Friend of mine was at another Phins game, and one thing he keeps hammering home about everytime is the fact that our wr's struggle to get seperation/get open, and opposing wr's get open so easily. Says some of it is scheme on both sides, but said that when it's time to win their 1 on 1 matchup the phins lose that battle almost everytime.

I have seen this too, I'm sure all of us have, but the sad part is we need probably 3 or 4 new guys in the secondary to fix that, and if Wake doesn't come back and/or we lose Vernon then we have to pass rush either. Add in the fact that we need at least 2 LB'seconds and we are seemingly F####d on the defensive side of the ball for at least a couple more seasons.

On offense I think the general consensus is that all of our woes are because of Tannehill, the OL, or Coaching but these wrs and TE's should share equal blame. I know we have Landry and he's a nice player, but he is not a #1 WR, and that's what the team has needed him to be. Landry is a guy that can do a ton of damage IF the defense has another legit player to key on. Parker can be that player... at least I hope he can but he's got a ways to go.

Bottom line we have a lot of holes to fill.

I'm sorry while the WR core may not be the best. IMO, they aren't even close to Top 5 personnel problems with this team!

Said it before from the home games I see they don't get much separation scheme or them whatever it is but they just don't.

True, but still think it's a valid observation when you watch this offense.

They may not be, but they're still a problem. I will admit most of them have been used improperly and the scheme has sucked, but like I said when it comes down to 1 on 1's these guys do not win.

That says more about the state of the roster than the actual quality of the WR corps. It is definitely a problem and I have noticed it myself. Wallace was able to get good separation often, as horrible a pass catcher as he is. They still sorely need an influx of real speed at the position. Landry is a baller but he is not fast by anyone's definition. Stills is more quick than fast. Parker is in the same boat as Landry. They need at least one guy who plays faster. He doesn't have to be an all-world sprinter type, but they really need to be able to stretch a defense. Part of it has been offensive scheme, but this is not exactly a new issue that only showed up when Lazor became OC.

route concepts are garbage and predictable. its the same crap over and over. thats a huge problem. plus opposing teams do not respect our run game, so no play action. the scheme is complete and utter garbage. its a college scheme in the nfl. it just does not work. we need a scheme that fits ryans strengths. i like what Shula is doing in Carolina using joe gibbs blocking scheme. gibbs was a mass protect guy, which is why cam has all day long.

If the WRs can't get separation, what is Tannehill to do in that situation?

Separation has been an issue for awhile now.

Nobody can get open against tight man coverage on this team consistently..

Couple that with the fact that we might have the worst pass pro O-line in the NFL... Ryan has had a bad season, and I don't exclude him from the blame, but I don't believe any QB in the NFL would be very successful in the same situation.

This is where solid coaching and scheming should take the burden off the players by casting them into roles where they can hopefully succeed. The reason why some teams seem to get guys open frequently is due to match ups. The Dolphins are not lacking in receiving talent, and in fact Jordan Cameron was supposed to be a threat if played in the right match ups. The guy should have had multiple big games this year. Instead, I feel like we see the same guys lining up in the same spots basically running the same set of routes every game.

These guys just appear to be coached to fail. No creativity. No inspiration. Same garbage, same recycled garbage.

When it comes to separation its a schematic issue most of all...they are just sitting on our concepts

You cant keep running the same stuff by down and distance...they sit on our run and pass concepts

And this team has no plan b other than to just line up and spin it from the same launch point on repeat

Its amazing to me that this staff calls itself pros
