It seems there have been plenty of exciting kick returns today. I definately wish we had addressed returnman better or used Bush as a return man but we shall see.

but we got bess and carrol maybe they return one in 2020.

Teams with an excellent weapon as a returner are letting that guy do his thing. It's pretty much like I expected it would be. Back when the touchback was the exception, teams taught their returners to down it whenever they caught it in the end zone. Now that doing that would make these weapons irrelevant, most teams have given their guy the green light.
 
No point in grabbing a returner if we can't block for them.. every "star" returner we get turns into nothing here because they get blown up everytime they field the ball.
 
yeah the packer guy almost steeped in back of the inzone he still returned it 108 yards
if you got the right guy take the chance for a big return why not !
Unless your playing super conservative and playing not to win i mean not to lose..

we make too many excuses when our guys suceed elsewhere
 
I think the 5 yards deeper is being offset by not being able to run up to the kickoffs like before. It's catching guys off guard for some reason and returners are exploiting coverage units.
 
We traded ginn for a 5th round pick and drafted carroll, I know everybody on here hated ginn but I would rather have a guy who can change a game and actually score points than a 5th round special teamer, ginn had alot value to this team and I don't think the front office appreciated it.
 
Ted Ginn ran back a 106 yard kick off and a punt for TD's today. Was San Fran playing the Jets ???

We might see Reggie back there sooner rather than later. If we are down late in the 4th who you want back there Bess or Bush ?
 
Well guess that extra 5 yards can't be used as a excuse for our pathetic return game!
 
I'll never understand why we neglect this area.

Kick off and punt returner can win a couple games for us but they treat it as an after thought.

With an extra player on the roster this year I was sure we'd use it for a dynamic returner.

im pretty sure many of these returns were more a result of the return man. Always hated Ginn as a starting receiver but as a backup and returnman he is solid
