From The Man That Makes A Living Writing "omar Kelly"

LOL in terms of jounalistic integrity, attention to detail, on point message and agenda/ attitude this entry truly does underscore why he's bulletproof with the Sun Sentinel but will never go national - at least mainstream so we're essentially stuck indefinitely with this inflammatory moron who based on his skillset likely would be turned down as a sports writer for Flannagan High in Pembroke Pines.

He's 2nd to Tannehill for most posted about on finheaven.

You know he and his paper are in trouble when they make you pay for their content on-line. It's the death of a Dinosaur industry.

So do you not think people should be compensated for their work? People who work in journalism don't just vomit out quality content. They spend hours a day on it. Nights. Weekends. Miss family functions. Just at the chance to write something meaningful and impactful. It doesn't have to be an investigative story. It can be a camp recap that gives somebody a 10-minute escape during the day.

Yeah, there are buffoons like Omar, but there are dozens of other people in that newsroom that bust their ass to be community liaisons, yet people feel entitled enough to say that they shouldn't need to "pay" for it.

Ehh. I think the point about “newspapers” isn’t that people shouldn’t be paid as journalists. It is that the industry has changed and left most newspapers in the rearview mirror.

Monetization of online content is different than the subscription based paper industry.

You think Omar Kelly puts out quality work? Let me ponder that. Yes I think people should be compensated for what they do, but an industry that does not or can't adapt to a changing environment will wither and die, i.e. BlockBuster. Paying a hack like Omar is a travesty in itself.
