I think it's fair to say this team's playoff hopes depends on the first half of the season which is brutal. Now if midway through the season we are not in playoff contention here is my strategy.

1- you start Tunsil at LT the rest of the season and let him play his natural position(he will be our starting LT for the next 10 yrs)

2- If we are out of playoff contention trade our aging vets before trade deadline.
If we can get a second round pick for each player I'm going to mention , you pull the trigger.
Again only if we are out of playoff contention. We trade Albert, pouncey and wake. And believe me teams will bite. I love cam wake but you pull the trigger. Hopefully pouncey shows he's healthy and playing so we can trade him.

3- If tannehill is struggling under gase then we would have to start looking to next years draft and zero in on the top qbs. I believe this whole season will depend on tannehill. This is his evaluation yr.

4- front office should hire our draft guys on this forum as scouts, it would be an asset to Miami.(tedslim etc)

That's all I have for now. Feel free fellas to add decisions miami can make to improve this team.

Not completely insane :)

There could be teams in contention that desperately need a pass rusher, center or LT rental for the year - but the trade deadline is too early IMO for someone to give up a "2" for any of these guys - perhaps Pouncey as he is younger. As good as awake is and Albert has been I think you get 5's to 7's for them is all.

We do need to stock up on picks because we need to draft some LBs, DBs, TEs, **** - everything except WR and possibly QB (depending on how Ryan does this year).

I never understood why the trade deadline wasn't as big in the NFL compared to the MLB or NHL. Probably cuz it's just not easy for someone to step into a new system and be productive right away.

good points. It's also too early IMO - take the NHL for example - there is often a frenzy of activity w teams out of contention looking to move someone expensive who is in a contract year and there is seemingly always a team in contention that needs a "guy like that" to complete their playoff run.

Yep, it's too early for teams to say for sure if they're out of contention.

i'd like to see the TD moved out to make things more interesting. Some years basically nothing happens at the NFL trade deadline - or nothing noteworthy.

That four game stretch to start the season is brutal -- at Seattle, at New England, vs. Cleveland, at Cincinnati. If Miami can steal one of those game and beat Cleveland to go 2-2 that would actually be a great start.

Don't disagree with trading veterans if the team struggles, but it's so hard to get value for vets in football trades.

Miami will beat New England. I'm confident in this. Jimmy isn't very good and they usually start slow anyways

I'd send #51 to western PA for a 5th. That way when Maurkice goes down...

A 2nd for Pouncey? LOL. The Dolphins are already paying that bum too much. If anybody offers anywhere close to that you, you ship him off on overnight mail immediately, regardless of playoff implications. It's not like the o-line plays any better when he's out there.
