Just a few things hear me out.

I think the most frustrating part about this whole thing (being 0-2 and not looking very sharp) is anything rival fans have said about our team has been right to a tee. They have told us our front seven is too old, our secondary stinks, Culpepper can't get it done when it counts, our offensive line stinks and Malarkey can't call plays for crap. That's what bugs me the most. You spend all offseason defending these guys and then in the first 2 games of the season, everybody you've debated is right and all of us are wrong. It stinks.

I'm curious about Malarkey calling plays from Linehan's playbook. Initially I understood why Saban wanted to keep the same offensive system as when you look at the most successful team from the last 5 years (New England) you see that they have had the offensive and defensive system since 2000. That has contributed to their success. However having Malarkey call plays he may not be familiar with could be hurting us.

I'm wondering how bad the O-LINE really is. Buffalo's pass rush really isn't that dynamic, giving up 7 sacks to them is not good. We should have been able to push those guys around up front. Everybody loves Hadnot but I'm wondering if we miss Seth as the Center does call the protections.

I'm questioning are skill guys. Why can't Chambers and McMichael, who we all make a big deal about, ever just step up and dominate (more than once in their careers). I'm thinking these guys are overrated.

Why are people blaming the defense for this game? We gave up 172 yards of total offense and under 4 yards per rush to Willis. Why do fans protect this offense so much??? Anyway you slice it or dice it if our offense is as good as everybody tinks they are they should score more than 16 on the Bills. The defense played wele enough to win and IMHO is not nearly the concern our enept offense is.

If we're not 2-2 going into NE, well looks at the schedule WE SUCK.

Dude, my thoughts exactly. Our "playmakers" do not ever make plays that truly matter, momentum shifting plays. Witness McMike's drop before Daunte's pic. They always get the benefit of the doubt because of poor qb play, poor coaching, etc. Now that is in place what is the deal?

Seth wouldn't help at Center, he was never very good at calling out the protection when he was playing anyways.

yeah, I agree..giving up a TD and three FGs tells me that we lost the field position battle, and looking at the stats our D did not play badly. Our O put them in bad field position
I also agree about McMike and CC. Randy likes to run his mouth a lot but he doesn't come up big in big games. I hate Shannon Sharpe, but at least he walked the walk. Did CC even play the first half? And how can McMike do all that yapping without at least running a route and getting open a few times??
All my buddies are also giving me a hard time now on just the same things you mentioned about Daunte, our OL, and Mularkey. V. frustrating. We gotta win a lot of games just to dig ourselves out of this hole

We need more youth on the defensive line. No doubt about that. After watching the Bills game and analyzing it I have the following observations: Channing Crowder and Spragan don't make many big plays at all at the OLB positions. Is Crowder in a sophmore slump? He was invisible in the Bills game. Culpepper needs a lot more practice reps with our receivers. He misses open receivers and holds onto the ball far too long. L.J. Shelton isn't any better at left tackle then McIntosh was. Shelton was beaten soundly and looked very sluggish against the Bills pass rush. Vonnie Holliday is simply too small to be playing the interior DT position. He is 275 pounds and was getting pushed backwards far too often. He just is not big and strong enough to anchor that position. Keith Traylor looked tire and slow. He also was getting dominated at the point of attack. This should be his last season. He is just too old and out of shape. Jeno James' play has slipped quite a bit. He gets pushed back too much and on one play he was pushed right into Daunte, causing Daunte to trip and get sacked. Chambers still does not play physical at WR and I don't think he ever will. He lets the opposing DBs dictate to him and he does not come back and fight for the damn ball. He just aggravates the hell out of me when he just sits back and waits for the ball instead of fighting for it!!! McMichael is overrated. He simply isn't the big play TE that we all want him to be. He makes too many crucial errors at critical times in the game. He missed a big block that got Culpepper sacked, he drops passes and commits penalties that drive a person crazy. Okay those are some of the bad points. As far as some good points. Ronnie Brown is a warrior. He gets a lot of yards after contact and fights like hell for every inch. He gets yards even when the run blocking is abysmal. I think he will only get better and better. Wes Welker is a tough little guy who plays his heart out too. They were obviously the sparks for the offense. Bufflao was trying to neutralize Jason Taylor in the game but Taylor was playing his heart out as he always does. One thing with Taylor is, he's only 245-250 pounds so he has a hard timre holding up when teams run it right at him. Zachs career may be in its twilight but he plays full throttle all the time. He certainly wasn't getting a lot of help from his fellow linebackers. Andre Goodman was holding his own and actually played better then Will Allen against the Bills. Donnie Jones' punts were awesome. He has about the best punting leg we have seen in Miami since the days of Reggie Roby.

Our Def didnt play badly. We held them to 3 at halftime. After that the Off. just decided to shut down and hand the ball over.

Yes it's frustrating to see all the hype we fans come to believe about our beloved dolphins... i am now beginning to see why c-pep was as bad as he was early in 2005 .. before his injury... what i believed was overlooked in the c-pep/brees debate was the mental part.. brees by far has more game management ability than daunte ... and i firmly believe that Money was a part of the decision to trade for c-pep... daunte restructered and brees wanted his money.. so there lies within a problem for the cap management people... i also feel that while daunte had the healthier arm... he certainly hasn't shown the footwork of a healthy QB ... i hope that the future is brighter for c-pep and us miami dolphins fans... as for the rest of the team.. SOMETHING IS MISSING!! i can't put my finger on it... but something just DOESN'T seem right with the offense ... lack of cohesion, out of sync... what ever it may be... but something is more wrong than anyone could have imagined... our o-line seems to be worse than 2005 ... and it is mainly coming from the RG and LT spots... when berger gets healthy it is conceivable that he will be the starting RG .. although Jacox played well in andersons spot against the bills... i am also not sure what role offensive coordinator is having in the mess that has unfolded so far on offense... but i was never a big fan of mularkey... i hope this doesn't turn out to be a disaster... as for the skill positions on offense... Ronnie Brown and Wes Welker are the only players that show any heart... Mcmicheal and Chambers have disappeared for most of the 8 qtrs played so far... as for the defense .. well i think the complicated scheme is too much for the newer players to pick up quickly ... too many new secondary faces have led to breakdowns ... if it weren't the bills game plan to run .. i can only imaging how ugly this game could have been... i am not too confident in the mental capacity of the new secondary right now ... Maybe as the season goes on.. they will click.. it is also obvious that we don't have any play makers at outside LB ... and lastly the d-line is really old... and it showed in the bills game... i know the defense gave up only 170 yards... but it seemed like the defensive line tired some in the end... whereas i am use to seeing the opposing teams melt in the florida sun... looking ahead to the future .. it could mean a blessing in disguise for miami ... if the team finishes in the top 5-10 in the 2007 draft ... depending on which juniors declare miami could be looking at Calvin Johnson, Dwayne Jarret, Gaines Adams, and or Sam Baker.. i'm hoping for a much improved team over all in the remaining 14 games... but from the play so far .. it's looking like a bad season...
