FS Jarred Page request trade from Chiefs, could he help Dolphins?

Do you just look at the stats of players and correlate it to the Dolphins? Page sucks. He's a backup on a good team and starter on a crappy team. Hence him starting on the Chiefs. Half his career interceptions came against the Raiders. Hes always injured as well. On top of that he is showing how big of an idiot he is by doing this whole stunt, acting like he is Bob Sanders or Nick Collins or Ed Reed.

He's Gibril Wilson part two. He is a strong safety playing Free Safety. His best asset is playing in-box, but we don't need that with Bell. He's a physical safety and a tank at 228-230 pounds. He's not light on his feet whatsoever and has minimal range when playing centerfield. Page messes up assignments, gets burned, and misses tackles.

He had 992 plays in 2008 and was rated 77 out 83 in the safeties department. Thats just atrocious. He had 10 missed tackles that year as well.

In 2009, his year was cut short. But lets look at the stats. Against Baltimore in Week 1 he was involved in 90 snaps. He amassed a total of 4 tackles. Week 2 he was in 56 snaps. 1 tackle amassed. Week 3, he had 3 tackles in 56 snaps. Week 4 he had 4 tackles in 75 snaps. And then 5 tackles in 70 snaps in Week 5. In 2009, he only played in 348 snaps, yet still managed to have 5 missed tackles. 348 snaps and 5 missed tackles is unacceptable.

Yeremiah Bell had 966 snaps and had 1 MISSED TACKLE the entire year. And that missed tackle was the first game of the season when he missed Tony Gonzalez. So he went the next 15 games without missing a tackle, making 83 in a row without missing ONE. Lets recount. Page had 10 in 992 snaps and the 5 in 348 snaps.

Page also ran the 40 in 4.65 when he came out 4 years ago. Add into the mix his injury, your looking somewhere between a 4.68-4.7 Free Safety. Page is like Gibril Wilson part deux.

Sounds like Im not the only one looking at Stats and I never said I wanted him to start, I said Clemons need competition

Yeah but you dont trade for someone like Page just for competition. I rather have a 7th round pick than Page. Page is the opposite of what we need at FS.

Did someone not read my statement of Miami waiting to he is released to acquire if they were interested.

i agree with clemons - or culver - needing competition - but said competition has to be good enough to start or else the whole rationale is only an exercise in futility. the idea itself isn't bad but bringing in someone like page would be going in exactly the wrong direction. page is an in-the-box guy all the way - no idea why so many teams play so many players out of position when its so obvious. if we needed depth at SS i'd say he's worth a look - but to bring him as competition for clemons at FS would be a total clusterfugg. waste of time, pick, money - you name it and him coming here would be a waste of it.

if we bring someone in to compete with clemons - that player needs to be a veteran at the (same) position - someone clemons could learn from and improve from having them present - and they need to be good enough to start if the player they're coming in to compete with isn't ready/good enough. page doesn't meet any of the qualifications - hell - he doesn't even play the same position.

there really isn't anyone out there that fits the 'competition' mold right now - no free agents at least. sharper would have been absolutely perfect. atogwe would have started, without competition or question.

Really appreciate the 2 cents, excellent analysis.

to be frank, i'd rather see what Jonathan Amaya has to offer before bringing in Jarrad Page. if we hadn't drafted Reshad Jones, Page might have made sense as back-up SS.

Thing about Amaya is he was playing strong safety in OTAs, I had forgotten about the kid. Heard he impressed big time.

Sparano said something along the lines of "the ball is finding him". so, he's generally in good position. that speaks of good awareness and good instincts. but it's only OTAs. who knows what happens once the pads come on.
