Freeman, who bypassed his senior year to enter the draft, has already visited with the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots, and he's one of the higher rated prospects attending the Dolphins' Pro Day on Friday. He joins nearly three dozen local draft prospects participating in the Dolphins' workout.

Each NFL team is allowed to host one day of workouts for the local draft talents. Players who will be at the Dolphins' workout either grew up in South Florida, or attended the University of Miami, Florida International or Florida Atlantic. It is the one rare instance where a prospect will workout at the team's facility. Each player will also sit down with the Dolphins coaches, scouts and executives, and execute board work and breakdown film.

Hurricane standouts Seantrel Henderson, Brandon Linder, Allen Hurns, Stephen Morris and Pat O'Donnell, who are all projected as possible third day picks, are also scheduled to workout for the Dolphins. Florida Atlantic cornerback Keith Reaser will attend Miami's Pro Day, but won't be able to workout because of an ACL surgery he had done for the second time this February.

But it is Freeman who is considered one of the hottest prospects on the scouting circuit because of his versatility, college production and commitment to succeed.

"He's a player you keep hearing about," NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said. "Everybody loves him, and they think they're the only team that loves him. I keep telling them, 'You're not alone here.' If you want to get him in the fourth round, I think you're going to be out of luck."

I know we have Moreno, but Freeman is someone I would not mind looking at in the 4th rd if he lasts that long.

I did not read the bottom of the post. It troubles me that Jeremiah and I would have the same thoughts.

nice...like this player a lot...explosive north south little guy...3rd round grade

Explosive is the right adjective for him. And for a little guy, he's decent at running through contact, and tough too. Wouldn't mind us picking him up at all. You give him the smallest little hole, and he'll pop through it in a hurry.

I like him and think a 3rd RD grade is reasonable, but I'd wait until the 4th. I think you can get him or a similarly talented RB in the 4th or 5th. Again, devaluation of the position. In a less talented draft (in general, not at RB) Zac Stacy went in the 5th, and I think he was a better prospect than Freeman is.

more of a change of pace guy with freeman...so i get that...stacy can handle more carries...4th round target would be more in line with my thinking but if he doesnt get out of day 2 i won't be surprised

that said i don't know much about his pass protection...smaller back have to be able and willing to take on guys...mindset as a ball carrier though says he's fearless so i imagine he's willing to stick his helmet under a guys chin

explodes to the los and thru it i know that much...

SB Nation reviewed the runners and had Freeman as a textbook example of pass protection. So he has some skills in that area. Also good burst through the hole. But I'd much rather have Terrance West if we're looking at backs who will go in the 3rd round.

Didn't see that you already posted this article here first. Sorry, I shoulda checked. I posted it in the main forum. My bad.

You've gotta love Freeman. Not the biggest guy but heart of a lion, throes himself into every aspect of the game. He has struggled physically in college, with making tough yards and with injury. So you have to think he'll have a tough time in the pros. He looks such a committed and dedicated player I imagine he's already in as good condition as possible, so what you see is what you're going to get physically.

His pass pro is great for his size. He reads it very well too. Plus vision, good acceleration over the first 5 yards but not much long speed. Very nice footwork.

Too much of a gamble for me until about round 5 and then I'm interested.

He's too slow and small for my taste and fsu had a great oline
