Nice analogy! We have a few more WR's/TE's that have their guns loaded and ****ed. If they start shootin, they could be next, paaaaaartner. :D

S Tony Bua - I am not surprised one bit as I have been expecting him to be released for awhile now. Yeah, he was a great Special Teams player but an unexperience terrible Safety. Other than 1 hit last year, he hasn't done anything except for make tackles on Special Teams. Lets face it... if it wasn't for hit he had on the St. Louis game, I bet over 50% here wouldn't even know who Tony Bua is. Sad, but probably true.

S Deandre Eiland- This was expected, though I am surprised he made it all the way to the final cuts.

RB Lamar Gordon - One of the biggest surprises by far, sure Gordon has been terrible for us but I was really expecting that we would end up trading him instead of releasing him.

S Jack Hunt - Expected, didn't expect him to make it this far.

P Donnie Jones - A bit of a surprise to me because I was honestly thinking that he a very good chance of being our starting Punter but it looks like we stick "The Best Punter in the NFL" and that, that's the direction we choose to go in. I hope Donnie finds himself on our Practice Squad.
TE Donald Lee - Haha.:lolcry: HAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Good riddance.

WR Maurice Mann - Impressive preseason but I didn't see him making the team... I'm just really confused about Derrius Thompson being placed on Injured Reserve.... It seems like that we may just placed him on these to avoid paying him money by releasing him? Is that a possiblity? We're just keeping him on IR and letting his contract run out while that it costing us to just flat out release him? :hmm:

FB Jamar Martin - Great blocker and tough to see him go but we only will be keeping one FB and Heath Evans is our man.

TE John Owens - At first I was the one saying that we would have 3 TE's or at least that John Owens wouldn't be one of them but everyone seemed convinced that he would make the team and eventually I started to think it was going to happen... Well if Ed Perry couldn't make this team, then neither could John Owens. I hope whatever needs to happen for us to get that conditional 5th round pick happens.

TE Jason Rader - Impressive preseason but he didn't really have any chance of making the squad, with Alex Holmes surprisingly making the team (which I'm very excited about), Jason Rader could end up on our Practice Squad.

G Rodney Reed - Expected, didn't think he'd make it this far.

DT Reggie Rhodes - Has been impressive from when I've seen him play but didn't expect him to make the team, we have a lot of DT's.

DT Dario Romero - I was actually surprised when we brought him back during the offseason but I didn't expect him to make the team, I did expect him to make it to the final cuts and than be released. Not sure if we would bring him on our PS. I think someone is going to pick him up. He's young.

LB Winston Taylor - I'm surprised that it looks like Eddie Moore AND Derrick Pope will make the team... with that being said, Winston Taylor never had a shot anyway.

G Jason Thomas - I'm pretty sure one of the main reasons that we are releasing him is because of injury but this was another expected cut.

G Taylor Whitley - There is a God............ thank you.

I expected Damion Cook to be released, I only figured for us to keep 8 or 9 Offensive Lineman and Cook had to go.

C Wade Smith (forearm) - (Expected.)

WR Derrius Thompson (hamstring) -(One of the biggest surprises, I can't figure this one out. I had no idea of any injury it almost seems like we're putting him on IR just to save money incase we released him. Is that a possiblity?

DT Kevin Vickerson (knee) (Damn, was hoping for PUP but Vickerson's season is over... it's ashame.)

No because this guy has been collecting free checks, and hasn't done anything on the field. It's not about me not liking him, what has he done for the team? Nothing, he can't stay healthy.

Gordon?? Regular part of the team last year?? Where was I? I thought he got like a couple carries and then got hurt. :confused:

It didn't happen this year, either. Vickerson is on the IR. :(

I guess the difference between a strain (or whatever) and a tear is that he might not go under the knife and that he might be ready for minicamps. Heal up, Vick.
 
Anyone know where to find the complete list of released/cut players from the original 83?

It really doesnt matter whether we cut Thompson or not. He's out for the season and this is the last year on his contract anyway. He's costing us about 1million against the cap, but 500K of that is signing bonus that we would have to pay anyway. He also doesnt take up a roster spot while on IR.

So, let him sit at home, and when his contract is up its "so long DT"
