I believe it was ruled a fumble, but they called Tennessee possession somehow. You can’t challenge that.

Would have been a wasted challenge. I think they either ruled down by contact or a recovery by TN. IF they reviewed it and had ruled a fumble, there was no immediate and definitive recovery by Miami. They would have given ball to TN regardless.

If there's no confirmed recovery, it can't be reviewed.

The same play happened to the fins against the Steelers at home like 10 seasons ago on the last play of the game, if no one can be confirmed to recover, there's nothing to challenge.

Yes he did. But it has to be a clear and immediate recovery from the replay. Replay will not overturn a scrum pile up recovery. It has to show an immediate and clear recovery prior to a scrum/pile up.

Refs most certainly didn't seem to want to make a call on the field.

No they sure didn’t. Very hesitant. Didn’t seem to want to make the call, but then it didn’t matter who came out of the pile, they were still gona give the ball to TN. Weird play but they do that more times than I care for.
