This is a fun but meaningless way to categorizes teams based upon the theoretical maximum number of wins possible. The idea is if you win the number of games stated, then most years you should achieve the stated goal such as win the division. Here are the categories:

Top Seed Caliber Team: 14 wins possible
Division Win Caliber Team: 13 wins possible
Playoff Caliber Team: 11 wins possible

As of Friday morning, here are the categories for the AFC

Top Seed Caliber (3): Bills, Chiefs, Dolphins
Division Caliber (7): Bengals, Bills, Chiefs, Dolphins, Jets, Ravens, Titans
Playoff Caliber (9): Bengals, Bills, Chargers, Chiefs, Dolphins, Jets, Patriots, Ravens, Titans

Post Week 13

Top Seed Caliber (2): Bills, Chiefs
Division Caliber (5): Bengals, Bills, Chiefs, Dolphins, Ravens
Playoff Caliber (9): Bengals, Bills, Chargers, Chiefs, Dolphins, Jets, Patriots, Ravens, Titans

And we play four of those playoff caliber teams in the next five weeks.
vs Bengals 0-1
vs Bills 1-0, final ?
vs Chargers ?
vs Chiefs X
vs Jets 0-1, final ?
vs Patriots 1-0, final ?
vs Ravens 1-0
vs Titans X

Post Week 14

Top Seed Caliber (2): Bills, Chiefs
Division Caliber (4): Bengals, Bills, Chiefs, Ravens
Playoff Caliber (9): Bengals, Bills, Chargers, Chiefs, Dolphins, Jets, Patriots, Ravens, Titans

Starting to separate, but still 9 teams that could end up with 11 wins.

Post Week 15

Top Seed Caliber (2): Bills, Chiefs
Division Caliber (3): Bengals, Bills, Chiefs
Playoff Caliber (6): Bengals, Bills, Chargers, Chiefs, Dolphins, Ravens

Down to 6 teams that could end up with 11 wins. When you think about it, the only non-playoff caliber team to whom the Dolphins have lost are the Jets.
