Through 12 games this season, Karlos Dansby has 5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 15 passes defended. In three seasons with the Dolphins, Dansby had 6 sacks, 1 interception, and 18 passes defended. We might be the worst organization in the entire NFL at using our players correctly and getting the most out of their talent.

No new news here man

Or, he wasn't playing to his potential. but, more realistically, Coyles and gang now saw that he wasn't a fit and that's why he wasn't re-signed.

He fits that defense better, which why he's not here. End of story.
I think that you are correct. It's not like he was a bad player in Miami. He was expensive for what he delivered.
Some players are better suited to certain systems. I was surprised when we cut him, but it was probably the right call.

Dolphins fans need to stop being such apologists and making excuses for all of this team's blunders. If we weren't planning on running a scheme that would put Dansby in a position to use his talent to make game-changing plays, then we shouldn't have spent big money to sign him. Period. That goes back to what I said in my first post where I said that the Dolphins are the worst in the NFL at getting the most out of their talent. I don't care what kind of fit Dansby was in our defensive scheme. The bottom line is that we got the bare minimum out of Dansby's talent during his three year tenure here. I don't see how anyone can possibly argue that point.

How many take aways does our D have this year? Seems like a lot more then in recent years.

I'm not going to fault them for taking a shot on Dansby. He got the big money because of how he performed prior to showing up and he went back to Arizona...not sure how similar their defense is compared to when he was there on his initial run.

Dansby is having a career year. You do realize he played for the Cardinals before going to Miami right? Why is he just now playing like an all-pro? Yet you blame the Dolphins for it.

Dansby was actually very solid for us last season. The most annoying thing about that whole contract is they kept him around the whole time he was under performing and JUST as he has his best season with us, they cut him.

In the end, it's okay since our defense is performing at a high level without him, but he might be performing better than Ellerbe right now had we kept him instead.

Ellerbe, by the way, looks like he needs to drop about 10lbs.
