If you get bored over the next few weeks go back and look at some of the fan mocks from recent drafts, some are very funny in hindsight. A few of my favorites were wr Stephen Hill "reminds me of Brandon Marshall, but faster and with better hands." and "Trent Richardson = Adrian Peterson, he runs with speed, power and can catch out of the backfield. The total package." Miami will regret not drafting Vernon Gholston.

Some of our past assessments make Jeff Ireland look like a freaking genius. For example for every Tom Brady that I was right on there are two or three Jim Druckenmiller's that I would like to forget.

For some reason every year we tend to over hype most of the players in draft, always screaming that a player slated for the fifth or sixth round in this years is better than most of the second and third rounders from two years earlier.

*sheepishly raises hand*

I thought Chad Henne had a real shot to be the answer. :bobdole:

Stephen Hill and then don't forget all the moaning about passing on Tommy Streeter. Supposedly this organization failed to scout in it's own backyard because they didn't draft him. LOL

My boy Criner doesn't seem to be working out right now.

I usually don't make stupid draft calls.

But I was wrong on Hopkins rookie campaign, less everything than I said and thought.

Dude your sig is making me unable to concentrate on whatever OP asked.

When you think about it the fans who sit back and then complain about all of the draft picks are right most of the time because teams are lucky if 3 of their 7 picks amount to much. So if your goal is to say "I was right" bash all of the picks.

I got sucked in by the Tavon Austin video highlights last year. It's still the best I've ever seen. Some phenomenal College players with great speed can look better than they actually are. Against better Defenses their deficiencies are more visible.
In fact there is the danger of getting sucked by some of these highlight videos. The professional evaluators get to study the whole body of work. But I know I'm guilty of getting sucked in. It's pretty easy.

I second that emotion. :(

Ted Ginn highlight reel blew me away. I thought the human joystick was going to be surpassed.

I'm not a draft guru by any means but i thought manny lawson was gonna be a beast, don't really remember why, maybe it had to do with his combine numbers, and being a bama fan i thought ingram and richardson both would set the league on fire.

Lesson learned from Ted Ginn: Beware receivers whose highlight reels mostly show punt returns, kick returns and reverses. Especially in the first round.

I thought Lawrence Sidbury was going to be a draft steal a few years ago.

I was one of the fools who thought Brady Quinn was a franchise QB.
On the same note, I was convinced Chad Henne was going to be our answer as well.

You have me interested to go look for some more

i almost had a heart attack when they passed on brady quinn and drafted ted ginn jr years back, hahahahahahahahahhaa

Tavon Austin and Trent Richardson supporter here..:rob19:

My strength is the Monday morning GM. I always have all the answers on Monday.

In 2010, I was all in for Sergio Kindle, from the end of the season to draft day, with a $100 bet. On D-Day, all the analyst were saying that he was our pick but, we took Odrick. Then, we had another chance in the second, and opted for Misi.

Still wonder how he would have done if he went to Miami, as the injury history would have changed. I was also a big fan of Ingram.
