So a few minutes before the start of yesterday's games, the Jag's mascot was supposed to ride a high wire from one side of the stadium to the other. The only problem was that he stopped about half-way and was just dangling there about 100 or so feet in the air. As we were watching it, we weren't sure if it was part of the act or not... and at one point his foot was stuck stuck in between the two of the wires. It actually took them about 10 minutes finally get him down.

I was watching the news later on and it turns out it was really a malfunction. I think I saw a brown streak on the back of his mascot costume hwne he was running around later on.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy to think how things can suddenly go horribly wrong. I was at an event at the Orange Bowl back in 1997 when a motorcycle stunt went wrong and the motorcyclist plunged to his death, though I don't remember it that well. I'm glad the mascot got out of that situation okay, even if he was a Jaguars mascot.

I noticed that as well. We weren't sure if he was suppose to go all the way over the field but he just stuck there and hung upside down. When they got him down I didn't think much of it anymore.

yeah i saw it too, i thought something was wrong. but everyone on the field were carrying on like nothing was wrong. we were making fun of him but to hear it wasnt part of the act, that was scary.

How did they get him down??

They had to slowly lower the wire and there were a couple of people down there to catch him and make sure he didn't hit the ground too hard.

I don't think he was ever in any real danger, but he must have been scared crapless dangling around upside down from that high. Not to mention, the punters were practicing and some of their balls were coming close to him while he was up there hanging.
