So, last week during the Florida game, I was stuck at Baghdad International waiting for a flight, and the TV in the MWR was showing the Florida game, and the accouncers were talking about some random Gator WR and one of them compared him to Ted Ginn, "the Miami Dolphins explosive wide receiver."

I started laughing as the announcer continued on about how great Ted Ginn was, when he was cut off mid-sentence by his partner, and had to change the subject.

Obviously, this announcer didn't do his homework. And I feel bad for the dude who was compared to Ted Ginn.

That is all.

TGJ was great in college. That was a college game broadcast.
Same would hold true if they spoke of Wuerfell, or Pat White, or Tommy Frazier. Great college players.

They were comparing the receiver in question to Ginn based on what he might bring to the NFL, otherwise, he would have said "Former Buckeyes WR Ted Ginn."

Being compared to TGJ when you're an NFL prospect is ...bad.

OK. It depends on the listener I guess. I would not consider it a bad thing if someone compared Nesbitt to Tommy Frazier.

TGJ has two problems. One is he drops passes. Second is, he can not be trusted to go and get the ball. Sometimes he goes for a ball like in the London game, inthe muddy conditions, or Buffalo game last year, or the Houston game (I think); and sometimes he does not like the Indy game, and often he slips like in the Pittsburgh game.

Those two are holding him down from being a very productive receiver in yards after catch for two reasons. One is that a quarterback can not trust him to be #1 and will rarely throw to him behind the defense where he is best utilized, and two is when he gets the opportunity he gets it in front of the defenders where he has to go and grab the ball, which is his weakness as of now.

Both are a matter of getting in a rhythm--repetition. As far as being soft, all that is required is to catch the ball and make a play. I don't care if he is made of tissue paper as long he makes play. The more Ginn avoids tackles the better for the team.

Ted GInn is our most EXPLOSIVE WR he isnt our best WR but he is the move explosive

Sorry, but "Ted Ginn Jr" and "making plays" dont belong in the same sentence. Lets face it, Peter Warrick was EXPLOSIVE in college and what did he do in the NFL? His best year was 800 yards and 8 tds. And if hes one of the biggest busts of all time, then Ted Ginn is.....

Obviously you may want to check your homework. Ted Ginn set numerous Dolphin records and recorded well above 1,000 yards his rookie year. He was the 1st player in NFL history with 2 100+ yard returns in a game and teams are flat out scared to kick the ball to him. I would say he is pretty explsive.

That was sarcasm, right?

Try facts. Ginn is as dangerous as anyone in football when he gets the ball in space and his ST's plays showcases that. We just need to find a way to let him showcase them at WR.

BTW if teams aren't scared of him what do you call what Pitt did Sunday?

Maybe I was watching a different Ted Ginn than you, but the one on my television (with the exception of like 4 good returns, including the 2 in the Jets game), typically went down on the first tackle, or ran out of bounds. Half the time, this happened before the 20 yd line. I'm not saying he's a bad returner, he's definitely the best person for the job in our current roster, but I don't really think anyone is scared of him.

I am sorry, but I did not say that TGJ is explosive. But, yes, he can be explosive on returns. That's a fact.

I simply stated three things with regards to his receiving ability. I said that he drops balls and does not go to grab the ball consistently. This is also a fact. I also said that I did not care whether he is soft or not because to me that does not matter. Randy Moss and Desean Jackson are soft too, but they catch the ball and make plays, which I said was all that is required. This is just a matter of preference and you are free to disagree.
