Hammer
roll with the punches
I haven't been terribly impressed with Mora over the last few years in Atlanta. He took a superb athlete like Vick and forced him to use a system that restrained his talents. Then he collected an assembly of great players and did nothing with them except teach them how to chop block. On the other hand, I keep reading posts reminding me about the wonders Gailey did with Chambers and Lamar. I started to get slightly excited about Gailey and did a quick Yahoo search on his reputation at Georgia Tech. It appears that it's notso hotso. Here's a blog link for the Atlanta Journal Constitution and the fans have no problem with him leaving for the 'Phins: http://www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/ajc/tech/entries/2007/01/05/can_chan_be_rep.html
The Atlanta writers aren't too much kinder to Gailey (if you Yahoo further you'll find articles that skewer the poor guy reminiscent of the way Wanny was gently pummeled by the media).
I was hoping we'd get some innovative offense to join our awesome defense; instead, it looks like we're choosing between one innovative coach that has crushed Michael Vick's development (as well as a few D linemen's knees; Marcus Vick must be chugging Pepto at this point) and one who's being gently pushed out of Atlanta as a so-so college coach.
Does anyone know why Norm Chow hasn't been considered? It seems he'd be an innovative head coach who could leave the defense to Capers.
