Some of you are turning your noses up at the thought of Brian Gaine.

Ive got news for you, he may well turn down the job. He forged a good league wide rep while working under an unpopular and unsuccessful gm, he even earned interviews for GM jobs.

If he shares the reservations others seem to have regarding the team strucutre, Gaine could walk out of Miami tomorrow and get a similar job than he holds atm with another team, improve his rep at a winning team working under a respected GM and thus improve his chances of getting a gm job elsewhere in a year or two.

Its not a matter of - oh well give it to Gaine and if it doesnt work we can sack him in 12 months. - Worth considering imo

Ever who they pick is going to get more than one year.

If he is smart, he will get off this sinking ship...

yeah so hes at the senior bowl for no reason, he hates working here and obviously doesnt want to scout for the Dolphins...he would'ev resigned with Ireland if that was the case. i am sure he wants it and i wonder what his relationship is with Philbin

He'll take the job if it's offered, guarantee you that.

Probably but thats what they thought about farmer, someone with a very similar league wide standing. If he thinks its a train wreck he might not want to risk his long term prospects.

Not only that I miss understood what he was saying. Sorry.

well, the guy worked next to Ireland so I am sure he is well aware of all that is on the inside.

At this point just give him the job. Its just like an extension of his duties except now he is in charge of making final decision of players. He doesn't have to worry about contracts. He already knows Joe well now.

So if he takes the job it must mean the opposite of the OP in that he can deal with the "structure". And he gets his raise/title.

Ross simply needed to clean house. Go to the remaining best personnel guy and say how much, how long and here is the checkbook to put your plan into place.

No he should have kept everyone minus Sherman. He could then spend an entire year re-evaluating and putting together a list of good candidates in private and kept everyone on notice. And we wouldn't end up looking so stupid and the job for GM would have been much more inviting.

and once again, my thoughts are based on the players who just got here and RT in his third year with a new OL.

But when hatred precede's all rational thought, people don't think into future very well. They only think about getting rid of a guy for the sake of saving face, when ending up with egg on your face, particularly when one person leaks crap to the media.

Maybe we'll get lucky and end up with the best personnel guy anyway.
