Roth is a beast. He was throwing guys around.
Carter was all over the field - he was impressive!
JT still looks 10-15 lbs heavier than in the past. He finally looks comfortable in the 3-4 type of alignment. Guy is Mr. Big Play!
Pope played great filling in. He looked tired but I thought his play showed he deserves some PT. Guy can stick people.
Spragan finally showed up - he was running around making plays for the 1st time.
ZT disappears too often this year - I really think for the 1st time his size is affecting his play. He seems to be getting pushed around more so this year and his blitzing up the middle is such a waste.
We better get Bell signed for a long term deal - he is an answer at safety - always around the ball.
We need another big time DB next year - I think a big time WR will expose us but we have a few good #2 DB's now.
Until we get a deep passing game going we will not be able to run consistently. Teams put too many guys in the box to be able to run effectively. We need a field strecthing deep threat at WR. We have Welker and Hagan as possession guys. We need a burner to go with Chambers next year.
Ever since the bye week when they said they simplified things the Defense has played alot better. Was it hte personnel changes or the simplified calls?

ZT dissapears because he rarely makes the big play anymore. But we don't need him to make the big play much. Its just a nice bonus when he does. He makes tackles and is around the ball. He makes offenses plan for him. ZT is just fine, don't worry. That just tells you how overlooked he is, he made 17 freakin tackles and here we are talkin about where was he. Gotta Love that guy.

i hear ya, but im so sick of people saying ZT is not playing well this year and he "dissapears", hes #1 in the nfl for tackles for crying out loud. league leader and hes getting disrespected by phin fans of all people.

Maybe part of it is that Phin fans are expecting the inevetable. That Zach will cease to be a factor and have to retire or god forbid let go. The day will come when we'll have to face that..and really it should be here. He's supposed to be about done. But he's not. SO maybe people are just expecting it so much they're seeing it happen when its not. I think without srious injury, ZT has at least 2 more years at this level.

i agree 100%. i think fin fans especially should show him the respect that ZT has shown the dolphins orginization and fans his whole career, until he ceases to be a factor. leading the nfl in tackles(again) shows me that hes still got it, he continues to be a factor, he hasnt "disappeared".

its funny while reading this i'm watching SC and highlights of the game and you see ZT catch a guy in mid air and drive him back from pushing in the endzone as if someone tossed him the football and he were to run with it .. quite the disappearing act though:sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol:

Zach was not considered one of the best M-LBers in the league because of his hard hits, they were just fun to watch (If your a Fin Fan).

Zach was not considered one of the best because of his great speed, he just seems to be everywhere the ball is.

Zach was not considered great because of how good he is in coverage, he just tends to be above average when helping out in coverage, and below average when he is the coverage.

What makes Zach one of the most feared LBers is his uncanny instincts (At times it seems he knows where the play is going before the offense), add to that, he can level you, and cannot be shaken off so easily, that makes him an extremely special player.

True he is not longer as devestating a hitter, he does tend to miss tackles at times, but his instincts are still there. In fact if the play is within 10 yards of of the line of scrimmage, odds are, Zach is somewhere in there (Think of him as waldo....look for him, he is there). That is the reason Zach has some good years ahead of him, and will retire when he is ready.....How do you get rid of a LBer that every year is among the league leaders in tackles.

Most of those are fair points but I would have to say that in the passing game I think we need more consistency at the QB position as well as more balance with the running game. Whilst another playmaker at receiver would be welcome, it's not the main problem, although McMichael does drop too many passes for my taste...

I am not saying anything about zach but let me ask you this: If the opposing offense is pinned at their own 1 yard line and they run up the middle for 98 yards and the runner collapses with a cramp at the 1 yard line then 10 minutes later zach touches him before he rolls into the end zone, would that be a tackle in the stats?

IMO, where Zach is having a tough time anymore is coverage. He's still the MLB on a team that is stuffing the run to a 3.4 ypc average. He's the leading tackler in the NFL.

He is lighter than usual and IMO it shows. But his instincts are still as good as ever and probably will be for a few more years.

The thing that is going is he doesn't cover as well anymore. That's just age. We have to find a LB to put in there with Crowder in nickel packages because Zach is slowly becoming a 2-down LB now.

I don't think Phins fans are disrespecting him. I am not. I think he is a Dolphin legend BUT he is not a dominant MLB IMO. Does he make plays - YES no doubt. Has he made game changing plays this year - NO - we have only 4 wins. JT has made game changing plays. I disagree with your way of thinking though - you believe because of what ZT has done he deserves to be around as long as he wants - he has earned that right - is that right? I disagree!! He makes alot of tackles - great. He has a great motor and runs plays down - great. Is still a leader on this D.

Let's look at the negatives - small - at 215 gets run over by blockers. Cannot blitz up the middle - gets no push when blitzing up the gut - too small. Cannot cover anybody - biggest weakness here IMO. He is always a step or two behind the TE - makes the tackle after the catch but let's up the play. Definitely can't cover a RB out for a pass.

Sorry but IMO you have to spend that 6 mil for an OLB or DB next year - we have a MLB in waiting in Crowder.

Actually he took on the lead blocker - great play by ZT but he took out the lead guy not the RB. What's with all the smileys?
