If you were BB or any opposing coach, how would you gameplan AGAINST our offense? Stack the box? Man up on the receivers? Make Moore beat you? Some other combination?

Belichick always takes away your biggest weapon, if Ajayi is playing, he will be the main target, if Jay doesn't play, then Landry will have the target on his back..

The plan I believe would be to take away the run, and the deep ball, make Moore beat them by having to throw short and often.

Who ****ing cares what the Gaytriots do! It is about what we're going to do! We are going ****ing show the pieces of **** we not here to be here we are here to ****ing prove that we are for real and INDUCE SERIOUS PAIN!!! It's time!! Stand up and kill the Beast!!! GO DOLPHINS!!!!

This is the attitude that is needed.

This is a great thread for one basic reason. I believe this is why Miami hired an offensive guy and specifically Adam Gase.

It's about being able to turn the tables, so to speak, on Bill Bellichick. The Dolphins wanted a coach who could match the defensive wizardry of Bellichick on the offensive side of the ball IMO. The rest of the division went with defensive minded coaches, but Miami did the opposite.

You've got to have answers on offense for what the Patriots do on defense.

Right now? Hold Kenny Stills and stack the box.

Yes, I would gameplan for #10 and #23. Time for DeVante Parker to do some damage.

And now that I think about it, #10 is still going to get open deep a couple of times.

It will be interesting, because you're absolutely right, that's what they do, so how many resources will they need to commit to erasing Jay? They won't need to stack the box as much as the Stej, 'cuz they're far more disciplined and maintain assignments.

We may be getting to a point where we have too many weapons for even them to fully account for. This seems like one of those games where our TEs have a bigger impact. This would also be a fabulous time to break out the Missile Package and get Jakeem more involved (sweeps, end-around, etc...haven't done it all year). The kid's speed is a "must account for," right along with Ajayi, Juice, Parker, Stills, and to a point, Sims.

We used extra linemen against the Jills and it worked, you can bet your ass BB will have a counter for it, and we'll need to hit the air to get anywhere. Would love some razzle dazzle, trickery, etc.

If it was me.......I would stack the box and bring constant pressure on Matt Moore. Make him have to make quick decisions and beat me throwing the football. Moore has had very good protection these last couple of weeks....I would change that.

I wouldn't say very good protection, I'd say it is noticeable that:

1. Moore gets rid of the football very quickly. Ryan Tannehill is more likely to survey the field and seek out better options. Moore is very quick read and throw.
2. He navigates inside of the pocket more comfortably than Ryan Tannehill does. We saw Juwan James give up several pressures in the Bills game, but Moore caught it from the snap and already stepped up and moved to buy time. Impressive stuff from a guy with limited action in 4 years. We saw Ryan start to do this better during the season.

In spite of having those benefits in your QB, he doesn't really allow himself time on certain plays to seek better options. His instincts is to throw the ball down field, but if he had Ryan's ability to read what's in front of him and seek out higher percentages on the play, it would really benefit him in managing this offense.

More than anything, the running game has been huge for the entire offense, especially the offensive line in pass protection. We can't keep Matt Moore from being Matt Moore and I think even Adam Gase realizes that and he is prepared for it.

Matt Moore will kill a defense on the blitz . . . he excels when their is single coverage and for the most part you aren't going to get there because the football will be gone. You have to pick your poison. Trust that 7 in the box can contain Ajayi and then confuse Matt in coverage, or send blitzes and watch Matt Moore torch you down the field with high quality skill position players.

same as I would do to them. stop Blount and double Edelman. make them beat you with martellus bennett and the other receivers.

Two things, firstly, the Patriots philosophy is to funnel everything to the middle and have a good spine that hits and tackles. Secondly, they go after the football aggressively between the 20's. Their defense is designed to create takeaways and they don't mind bending but not breaking to do so. Their philosophy will not change.

How to stop us,

1) Shut down the run game.
The Dolphins have either been dominant with the run game or completely shut down. If you can make us one dimensional, we're a lot easier to play. So, do what you can to completely shut down the run.

2) Coverage not pressure.
Our OL is better this year than in years past. We are not guaranteed to give up a lot of pressure. So, pick your spots with the blitzes. Don't go all blitz all the time. Our WR's and TE's are not exceptionally fast with the exception of Stills and the guys who rarely play (Grant, Drake). Play tight coverage and keep a safety on the back end. Rush with 4, force Moore to be consistently accurate. We all know that Moore is a gunslinger ... he will throw TD's and he will throw INT's. He is a little like Jay Cutler in that regard, but with a better attitude and weaker arm. Gase has had success with QB's that are gunslingers (Cutler) and weak arms (Peyton), so a defense's best bet is to make him be consistently accurate. Eventually the pass rush will get there.

It's not rocket science. We are a team that has become decent in all phases of the game. If you LET us run, we will, and we will begin to dominate in the 4th quarter. If you LET our WR's go 1v1, it's only a matter of time until you get burned. But, if you can get us into 3rd and 4+ and play good coverage ... we can be stopped. Also, this opportunistic defense will have chances to create takeaways. It's on them whether they secure the takeaway and on their offense whether they convert those chances into points.

Our offense is not great. It wasn't great with Tannehill, and it's not great with Moore. Our defense is not great. It wasn't great with Reshad Jones and it's not great with Rambo. Our special teams is not great. It has allowed a lot of big plays and fumbled. But, it has also created a lot of big plays by guys like Grant, Drake, Hull and Aikens.

But when you look at our team as a whole, we're a good football club who is competent to above average in every area. Each game Gase finds a unit that can succeed and they succeed. For 9 of the last 10 games one of those three units has stepped up when needed and won us the game. We're not a juggernaut. We're not a dominant team. But, we are getting the most out of our personnel. We are rising to the challenge. We are fearlessly competing without ever giving up. We are getting the scores late when needed. We are generating first downs to seal wins. We are getting INT's and huge defensive stops to seal victory. We are getting timely special teams moments of dominance. We are finding a way to win.

It's not particularly complicated how to beat any of our units. But come prepared ... because any weakness will be exposed. Gase has these guys playing with ferocity. Juice, Suh, Kiko, Albert, Ajayi, Aikens, Howard ... there's simply no quit in these guys. If you're going to beat us ... then bring it. Because we're not giving up.

We figured something out in the second half of that game against them...hopefully we can continue to exploit it!
