Aside from the 4 games we let slip away(Indy, NO, Buffalo, and Tenn) which would obviously have us in good shape if we had won, can you guys think of some games from earlier in the season that were close calls that are killing us right now?

I have 2 from week one.

1) Buffalo AT New England - That ****ing fumbled kickoff. Pats score twice in the last couple of minutes to beat the Bills. Sure would be nice right now had the Bills won that one.

2) Denver AT Cinci - The Broncos pulled that one out of their *** with that tipped pass that was a virtual hail mary to Stokely for the win. The Broncos who have dropped 6 of their last 8 after starting 6-0 and in no way should be a playoff team would be sitting at 7-7 right now without that miracle win. Who knew when it happened that we wouldve liked that game to go the other way.

You guys got any others? And dont bring up games that didnt involve some really close calls and/or some lucky breaks. The Titans beating the Cards a couple of weeks ago comes to mind.

I don't get into this man. I don't care about other teams and who needs to lose to who and where and tiebreaker scenarios blah blah blah. That garbage is for people who refuse to look at the Miami Dolphins and see them for what they are: A mediocre football team. Had we taken care of OUR business against Indianapolis, New Orleans, and Tennessee today, we're in the playoffs and no one care about whatever it was that happened in that Bengals - Broncos game.

The Dolphins can only be concerned with the things they can control.

Agreed. I dont get into the scenerios thing in regards to just worrying about winning upcoming games either. (Edit: wait...that dosent sound right. I mean I dont get into the we need this team to do this and that bs, is what Im trying to say. I always just say first and foremost, win the games you play that you can control.)

As you know, I said 3 weeks ago after the Buffalo loss, just get to 8-6 and I bet we will be in a win and youre in scenerio as far as winning the last two games. I didnt want to get into what we needed other teams to do.

We ****ed ourselves vs. Buffalo and did it again this week. Both games gave us the opportunity to control our own destiny with wins. We lost both times.

Nevertheless, I just happened to be thinking about all the games we ****ed ourselves and I thought of those two bs outcomes in week one that would really have helped us out had they gone the other way. Thats all. So I made a post.

Dont be a jizzmopper bro. I was just representin.

LMAO.

Too many turnovers and dumb penalties. Yeah, you could make an argument that a couple of the calls were questionable but I've never been "blame the ref" guy. You can't turn the ball over as many times as we did against Buffalo and Tennessee today and beat anyone. Turnovers are the fastest way to a loss in this league.

We had every opportunity to win this game ON THE ROAD against a pretty good football team despite the turnovers. This team never quit. And we can cry all we want about the loss and yeah, it stings and it's depressing but this team is absolutely headed in the right direction. I said at the beginning of the season that we were an 8 - 8 football team and 9 - 7 AT BEST but I guarantee that this team would beat the hell out of that 11 - 5 team from last season.

Agreed on all counts. I said in the other thread, you cant really cry about the refs despite some questionable calls in a game where we cost ourselves so many times. When you make that many huge mistakes that cost you the game, that is the first place you have to point before you go crying foul on the refs.

I thought we could win 10 or 11 this year despite the tougher schedule just based on the fact that IF the team improves from last season, then they should be able to beat some better teams and therefore equal or come close to the same amount of wins that we got vs. a weak schedule the previous season.

We have had 4 games that we beat ourselves in with piss poor game management, ball play calls, stupid mistakes, dumb penalties, and turnovers.

But, yes this years team is A LOT better than last years. Thats why I wanted to win the division so badly. I really felt we would win a game in the playoffs if we couldve hosted one of these wildcard teams.

i would give up anything to make the playoffs now, bc i truly feel if we were to get in, we would do something extremly special. we r as physical a team as anyone in the playoffs, and honestly, i say bring on cinci or new england in the first round. we can beat those teams easily.
